بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي ذِكْر مَنْ تَزَوَّجَهُنَّ أَوْ وَهَبَهُن أَنْفُسَهُنَّ ﷺ وَلَمْ يَدْخُلْ بِهِنَّ أَوْ وَعَدَ بِزَوَاجِهِنَّ
Chapter on What Has Been Reported Regarding Those Whom He Married or Who Offered Themselves to Him ﷺ and He Did Not Consummate With Them or Promised to Marry Them
Hadith 11468
عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَعَبَّاسِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَا مَرَّ بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابٌ لَهُ فَخَرَجْنَا مَعَهُ حَتَّى انْطَلَقْنَا إِلَى حَائِطٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ الشَّوْطُ حَتَّى انْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى حَائِطَيْنِ مِنْهُمَا فَجَلَسْنَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”اجْلِسُوا“ وَدَخَلَ هُوَ وَقَدْ أُوتِيَ بِالْجَوْنِيَّةِ فِي بَيْتِ أُمَيْمَةَ بِنْتِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ شَرَاحِيلَ وَمَعَهَا دَايَةٌ لَهَا فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ”هَبِي لِي نَفْسَكِ“ قَالَتْ وَهَلْ تَهَبُ الْمَلِكَةُ نَفْسَهَا لِلسُّوقَةِ قَالَتْ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْكَ قَالَ ”لَقَدْ عُذْتِ بِمَعَاذٍ“ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ ”يَا أَبَا أُسَيْدٍ اكْسُهَا رَازِقِيَّتَيْنِ وَأَلْحِقْهَا بِأَهْلِهَا“ قَالَ وَقَالَ غَيْرُ أَبِي أَحْمَدَ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ بَنِي الْجَوْنِ يُقَالُ لَهَا أَمِينَةُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Usaid and Sayyiduna Sahl (may Allah be pleased with them), they say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) and his companions passed by us. We set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) until we reached a garden called Al-Shawt. There we reached two more gardens and sat between them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Sit down. And he went ahead. The lady Junayyah was brought to the house of Ummaymah bint Nu’man bin Sharahil, and with her was her nurse. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) went to her and said: Offer yourself to me (in marriage). She said: Can a queen offer herself to her subjects? At the same time, she said: I seek refuge with Allah from you. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: You have sought refuge by mentioning the name of the One whose refuge alone is to be sought. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) came back to us and said: O Abu Usaid! Give her two white cotton garments and take her to her family. All the narrators except Abu Ahmad have said, instead of Junayyah, that a woman named Aminah from the tribe of Banu Jun was brought to the house of Ummaymah bint Nu’man.
Hadith 11469
جَمِيلُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ قَالَ صَحِبْتُ شَيْخًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ كَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ كَعْبُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ أَوْ زَيْدُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ فَحَدَّثَنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي غِفَارٍ فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَضَعَ ثَوْبَهُ وَقَعَدَ عَلَى الْفِرَاشِ أَبْصَرَ بِكَشْحِهَا بَيَاضًا فَانْحَازَ عَنِ الْفِرَاشِ ثُمَّ قَالَ ”خُذِي عَلَيْكِ ثِيَابَكِ“ وَلَمْ يَأْخُذْ مِمَّا أَتَاهَا شَيْئًا
Jameel bin Zaid says: I had the opportunity to sit in the company of an Ansari elder. He claimed that he had the honor of the companionship of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. His name was Ka'b bin Zaid or Zaid bin Ka'b. He narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, married a woman from the tribe of Banu Ghifar. When he entered upon her, he put his garment aside and sat on the bed. When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saw a white mark of vitiligo on her side, he moved away from the bed and said: "Put on your clothes." And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did not take back anything he had given her.
Hadith 11470
عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ شَرِيكٍ أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ مِمَّنْ وَهَبَتْ نَفْسَهَا لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Sharik (may Allah be pleased with her) that she was among those women who offered themselves to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 11471
عَنْ أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتَ عَبَّاسٍ وَهِيَ فَوْقَ الْفَطِيمِ قَالَتْ فَقَالَ ”لَئِنْ بَلَغَتْ بُنَيَّةُ الْعَبَّاسِ هَذِهِ وَأَنَا حَيٌّ لَأَتَزَوَّجَنَّهَا“
Sayyida Umm Fadl bint al-Harith narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saw Umm Habibah bint Abbas at an age when she had only recently been weaned. So he said: If this daughter of Abbas reaches maturity during my lifetime, I will surely marry her.
