4 hadith
Hadith 11464
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) heard that Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) had said, "This Safiyyah is the daughter of a Jew." Upon hearing this, she began to weep. When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to her and found her crying, he said, "What has happened to you?" She replied, "Hafsah has said about me that I am the daughter of a Jew." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You are the daughter of a Prophet, your uncle was also a Prophet, and you are the wife of a Prophet. So on what basis does Hafsah take pride over you?" Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Hafsah! Fear Allah."

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyidah Safiyyah bint Huyayy (may Allah be pleased with her) entered the tent of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), people came, and I also came along with them so that I could also participate in the walimah with them. But the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out of the tent and said: You too, get up from your mother’s place. Then when the last part of the night came, we gathered again and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us. In one corner of his cloak, there were about one and a half mudd of Ajwah dates. He said: Eat this, this is your mother’s walimah.

It is narrated from Sayyida Safiyyah bint Huyayy (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Hajj with his wives. While you (peace and blessings be upon him) were on the way, a man dismounted and began to drive the women’s mounts quickly. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Is this how you drive the glass vessels (women)?” So they were traveling when the camel of Safiyyah bint Huyayy sat down, even though her mount was the best of all, and she began to weep. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) found out, he came and began to wipe her tears with his hand. She wept even more, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) continued to console her. When she wept excessively, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) scolded her and ordered the people to dismount, so they dismounted, even though the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had not intended to dismount. She says: The Companions dismounted, and that day was my turn. When the Companions dismounted, the tent of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was set up, and he entered it. She says: I could not understand how I could go to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I was also afraid that perhaps there might be some displeasure in his heart regarding me. She says: I went to Aisha and said to her: You know that I would not trade my day for anything, but I gift you my turn on the condition that you reconcile the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to me. She said: Alright. Now she says: Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) took a cloak dyed with saffron and sprinkled water on it so that its fragrance would be fresh, then she dressed herself and went to the Messenger of Allah, and (upon arrival) lifted a corner of the tent. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: O Aisha! What is the matter with you? This is not your day. She said: This is the bounty of Allah; He gives it to whom He wills. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) rested with his wife at noon. When evening came, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Zaynab bint Jahsh: O Zaynab! Lend your sister Safiyyah a camel, for she has more mounts. Zaynab said: Should I lend your Jewess? Upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) became angry with her and stopped speaking to her and did not speak to her until he reached Mecca, then during the days of Mina (he stayed away), until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned to Medina, and the months of Muharram and Safar also passed, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) neither went to Zaynab nor assigned her any turn. She too lost hope in him. When the month of Rabi’ al-Awwal came, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to her. Zaynab saw your shadow and said: This is the shadow of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) does not come to me, so who could this (shadow) be? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered upon her. When Zaynab saw you, she said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I am so happy at your coming that I do not know what to do. She says: She had a slave girl whom she used to keep hidden from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then she said: Such-and-such slave girl is for you, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to Zaynab’s bed, it had been removed, so he spread it with his own hand, then had relations with his wife and was reconciled with her.

It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was on a journey when Sayyida Safiyyah's (may Allah be pleased with her) camel fell ill. Sayyida Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her) had an extra camel, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "Safiyyah's (may Allah be pleased with her) camel has fallen ill, what do you think, if you could give her one of your camels?" She said: "Shall I give this Jewess a camel?" At this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) became displeased with her and remained aloof from her for two or three months of Dhu al-Hijjah and Muharram. He (peace and blessings be upon him) did not go to her during that period, to the extent that Sayyida Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her) says: "I lost hope of your being pleased with me, and I had lifted my bed and set it aside, when suddenly one day at noon I saw the shadow of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) coming." Affan said: Hammad narrated this hadith from Shumaisa, and she narrated it from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Affan says that after this, once Hammad narrated this same hadith to me from Shumaisa, that she narrated it from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), and she narrated it from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). And later he said that this incident was during Hajj or Umrah. Affan says: I am certain that he said this incident occurred during the Farewell Hajj.
