Hadith 11437
It is narrated from Urwah that he used to say to Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her): Mother! I am not surprised at your intelligence and understanding, because I can say that you are the wife of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and the daughter of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). (Therefore, being intelligent is not surprising.) I am also not surprised at your knowledge of poetry and historical information; I can say that you are the daughter of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), who had the most knowledge about poetry and history. What surprises me is your medical knowledge—how did you acquire it? Upon hearing my words, she struck her hand on my shoulder and said: O ‘Urayyah! In the last part of his life, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to remain ill, so delegations from all around Arabia would come to him, and they would mention various medicines and prescriptions before him, and I used to treat him. This is how I acquired this knowledge.
Hadith 11438
Lamis narrates, she says: I asked Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) whether a woman can apply oil to make her face clearer in order to gain her husband's affection. She replied: Keep it away from yourself, Allah Almighty does not look towards the woman who applies it. Another woman said to Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): O mother! Sayyida replied: I am not your mother, I am your sister. Then Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray and sleep during the first twenty days (of Ramadan), but when the last ten days began, he would tighten his waistcloth and devote himself to worship.
