Hadith 11388
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was present in my house, when Sayyida Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) came carrying a pot in which there was khazira prepared with meat. When she entered upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), he said: Call your husband and your two sons and bring them here. In the meantime, Sayyiduna Ali, Sayyiduna Hasan, and Sayyiduna Husayn came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) and they all began to eat the khazira. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was in a place resembling a small room, which was his sleeping place, and a sheet made in Khaybar was spread underneath. Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I was praying in the chamber, and at that time Allah the Exalted revealed this verse: {إِنَّمَا یُرِیدُ اللّٰہُ لِیُذْہِبَ عَنْکُمْ الرِّجْسَ أَہْلَ الْبَیْتِ وَیُطَہِّرَکُمْ تَطْہِیرًا} … Allah only intends to remove impurity from you, O People of the House, and to purify you completely. After this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) took a part of the extra sheet and covered them, then raised his hand towards the sky and said: O my Allah! These are my family and my special ones, so remove impurity from them and purify them. O my Allah! These are my family and my special ones, so remove impurity from them and purify them. In the meantime, Umm Salama, who was outside the room, inserted her head under the sheet and said: O Messenger of Allah! Am I also with you? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Indeed, you are upon goodness, without doubt you are upon goodness.
Hadith 11389
Abu Ma'dhal Atiyyah Tufawi narrates from his father that Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said while describing: One day, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was sitting in my house when the servant said: Sayyiduna Ali and Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with them) have come to the door. Hearing this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Umm Salamah! You get up and move a little aside from my Ahl al-Bayt. Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I got up and moved to one side of the room, close by. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) came, and with them were Sayyiduna Hasan and Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both), who were still small children. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) took both children and seated them in his lap, kissed them, and with one hand drew Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and with the other Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) close to himself, and he kissed Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) and Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and covered all of them with a black cloak and said: O Allah! I and my Ahl al-Bayt come towards You, not towards Hell. Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I asked: O Messenger of Allah! And me too? He (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: And you too.
Hadith 11390
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said to Sayyida Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her): Bring your husband and your two sons to me. She called them and brought them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) covered them with a prepared cloak from Fadak (a region of Khaybar), placed his hand over all of them, and said: O Allah! These people are the family of Muhammad, so send Your mercy and blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad. Surely, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I lifted the cloak and tried to enter with them, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) pulled the cloak from my hand and said: You are already upon goodness and virtue.
Hadith 11391
Abu Ammar Shaddad says: I went to Sayyiduna Wathila bin Asqa’ (may Allah be pleased with him), and there were many people sitting with him. They started mentioning Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) (that is, they began to speak unpleasant and undesirable things about him). When they got up and left, Sayyiduna Wathila (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me: Shall I not narrate to you an eyewitness incident of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? I said: Yes, please do. He said: I went to Sayyida Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked her about Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), where is he? She replied that he had gone to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). I sat down to wait for him. In the meantime, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived. He was carrying Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him), one in each hand, until he entered and made Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyida Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) sit in front of him, and placed Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) on his lap. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) covered all of them with a cloak or his garment. Then he recited this verse: {إِنَّمَا یُرِیدُ اللّٰہُ لِیُذْہِبَ عَنْکُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَہْلَ الْبَیْتِ وَیُطَہِّرَکُمْ تَطْہِیرًا} … that Allah only wishes to remove all impurity from you, O people of the household (Ahl al-Bayt), and to purify you completely. (Surah Al-Ahzab: 33) Along with this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Allah! These are my Ahl al-Bayt, and my Ahl al-Bayt are more deserving of this honor.
Hadith 11392
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that for six months, it was the practice of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that when he would pass by the house of Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) at the time of Fajr prayer, he would say: O people of the household! Perform the prayer. Verily, Allah only intends to remove all impurity from you (the people of the household) and to purify you completely.

Yazid bin Hayan Taimi says: I, Husain bin Sabrah, and Umar bin Muslim went to Sayyiduna Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him). When we sat with him, Husain said: O Zaid! You have attained much goodness, you have seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), you have heard his hadiths, you have performed jihad with him, you have prayed with him. Zaid! You have indeed attained much goodness. Zaid! Relate to us the hadiths you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: O nephew! I have grown old, and it has been a long time since the companionship of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and of the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that I had memorized, I have forgotten some of them. Therefore, accept from me whatever I relate to you, and do not burden me regarding what I do not relate. Then he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up to address at Ghadir Khumm, which is between Makkah and Madinah, and he praised and glorified Allah, and gave admonition and advice, and then said: "Amma ba'd! Behold! O people! I am only a human being. Soon the messenger of my Lord will come to me, and I will accept his call. Verily, I am leaving among you two precious and valuable things. One of them is the Book of Allah, in it is guidance and light. So hold fast to the Book of Allah and adhere to it." Thus, he (peace and blessings be upon him) encouraged adherence to the Book of Allah and urged regarding it. And then he said: "The second thing is my Ahl al-Bayt. I remind you by Allah regarding my Ahl al-Bayt, I remind you by Allah regarding my Ahl al-Bayt, I remind you by Allah regarding my Ahl al-Bayt." Husain said: O Zaid! Who are the Ahl al-Bayt of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? Are his wives among the Ahl al-Bayt? He said: Indeed, his wives are among his Ahl al-Bayt, but the Ahl al-Bayt of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) are those upon whom charity is forbidden. Husain said: Who are they? He said: They are the family of Ali, the family of Ja'far, and the family of Abbas. He said: Is charity forbidden for all of them? He said: Yes.
Hadith 11394
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) held the hands of Sayyiduna Hasan and Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both) and said: Whoever loves me, and these two, and their father, will be with me in my rank in Paradise.
Hadith 11395
Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I am leaving among you two things that will remain; one is the Book of Allah, which is a rope hanging between the heaven and the earth, and my family, who are my Ahl al-Bayt. These two will never be separated until they come to me at the Pond of Kawthar.
Hadith 11396
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Surely, the time is near when I will be called and I will accept that call. I am leaving among you two important and strong things: one is the Book of Allah Almighty and the other is my family. The Book of Allah is that rope which is hanging from the sky to the earth, and my family are my Ahl al-Bayt. Allah Almighty is very subtle and aware of everything; He has informed me that these two will not separate from each other until they come to the Pond (of Kawthar), that is, until the Day of Judgment. So be mindful of how you behave with them after me.
Hadith 11397
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was lying on the bed when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me. Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) or Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) asked for something to drink. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood by one of our goats, whose milk was very little or had completely dried up. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) began to milk it, it gave milk. Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) came towards him (peace and blessings be upon him), so he (peace and blessings be upon him) set him aside. Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: It seems that you love Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) more than the other. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No, it is not so. But he (Hasan, may Allah be pleased with him) asked first. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I, you, these two children, and this sleeping man, meaning Sayyiduna Ali, on the Day of Resurrection, all of us will be together in one place.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) looked towards Sayyiduna Hasan, Sayyiduna Husayn, and Sayyidah Fatimah and said: Whoever opposes you, I am his opponent, and whoever makes peace with you, I will also make peace with him.
Hadith 11399
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I said: O Messenger of Allah! When the Quraysh meet each other, they meet with cheerful faces, but when they meet us, they meet with indifference and frowning faces. Upon hearing this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) became extremely angry and said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, faith cannot settle in the heart of any person until he holds sincere love for you for the sake of Allah and His Messenger’s pleasure.
Hadith 11400
(Second Chain) Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When we go out, we see the Quraysh talking among themselves, but when they see us, they become silent. Upon hearing this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) became so angry that sweat began to flow from between his eyes. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Allah! Faith cannot enter a man's heart until he loves you people for the sake of Allah and out of regard for my kinship with you.
Hadith 11401
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was a servant bound by the command of Allah Almighty. By Allah! Whatever message was given to him from Allah, he (peace and blessings be upon him) conveyed it exactly as it was, and apart from three things, he did not give us any special command separate from the general Ummah: He (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to perform complete ablution, not to eat charity, and not to mate donkeys with mares. Musa bin Salim says that when I met Abdur Rahman bin Hasan, I said to him: Abdullah bin Ubaidullah bin Abbas narrated to me in this way, so he said that there were few horses among Banu Hashim and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted their number to increase, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade them from this act.
Hadith 11402
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed the share of Khaybar among Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib, I (Jubair) and Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) went to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! These are Banu Hashim, their excellence cannot be denied, due to the status they have with you, which Allah Almighty has mentioned, but please consider that these, our brothers Banu Muttalib, you have given to them and left us out, while we and Banu Muttalib are at the same position with you (i.e., our degree of kinship with you is the same as theirs). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: These people have not separated from me in the time of ignorance nor in Islam; Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib are one and the same. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) interlaced his fingers.
Hadith 11403
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (gave something to the Banu Abd Manaf and) said: O Banu Abd Manaf! This is the best gift, and O Banu Abdul Muttalib! If you are granted authority and power, then do not prevent anyone at any hour of the day or night from performing Tawaf of the House of Allah (the Ka’bah).
