Qatadah says: I asked Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): Which clothing was most beloved to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? He replied: The Yemeni cotton and striped cloak.
Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that among all garments, the most beloved garment to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing the shirt (qamees).
It is narrated from Sayyidna Ali bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performing idtiba’ with a prepared sheet from Hadhramaut.
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) between Safa and Marwah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had performed idtiba‘ (exposing the right shoulder) with a prepared mantle from Najran.
(Third chain) When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) arrived, he performed the circumambulation (tawaf) of the House of Allah, while at that time he had done idtiba‘ with a prepared mantle from Hadramaut.
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that she made a black woolen cloak for the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then she mentioned the blackness of the cloak and the fairness of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wore that cloak. When he perspired and sensed the smell of wool, he took it off and threw it away. In fact, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) liked cleanliness and good fragrance.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Rimtha Tamimi (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) along with my father. We saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sitting in the shade of the Ka'bah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing two green-striped sheets.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Qais (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I wish you could have seen the scene when we were with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and it would start to rain, then you would think that our smell was like that of sheep, and the reason for this was that our clothing was made of wool.
Mawla Asma reports from Abu Umar, who says: Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) placed a cloak before us, which had silk buttons. She said: This is the cloak in which the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would meet even the enemy.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that when the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, would wrap himself in a sheet, the thick flesh of his shin would be visible from beneath the sheet.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Burdah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I went to the service of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she showed us a thick sheet made in Yemen and another sheet which you people call "mulabbadah", and said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, he was wearing these two sheets.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed the people while he was wearing a black turban. The well-known meaning of "Rasimatun" is "shiny." It is possible that the turban became oily due to the use of oil.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Huraith (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed the people while he was wearing a black turban.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah on the day of the conquest of Makkah, he (peace and blessings be upon him) had a black turban on his head.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the sandals of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had two straps at the front, with which he would tie the thong.
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I will neither ride on a red silk cloak, nor wear clothes dyed with safflower, nor wear such a shirt whose collar and sleeves are adorned with silk. Along with this, Hasan pointed towards the collar of his shirt. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) further said: Beware! The fragrance for men is that which has a scent but no color, and the fragrance for women is that which has color but no scent.
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that when I used to part the hair of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I would divide the hair on his head into two sections from the top of his head, and I would leave the hair of the forehead between his eyes, that is, on the forehead of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that musk was mentioned in the presence of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is the best fragrance."
Sayyiduna Urwah says: I asked Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) which fragrance she used to apply to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). She said: I used to apply the best fragrance.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the things of this world, women and perfume have been made beloved to me, and the coolness of my eyes has been placed in prayer.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to apply ithmid kohl every night before sleeping, and he (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) would put three strokes of kohl in each eye.
Sayyiduna Abu Rimthah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to dye his hair with henna and katam, and his hair would reach his shoulders.
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that as long as Allah willed, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept his hair straight, then he started parting it.
