Hadith 11293
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: On the day of Hudaybiyyah, the people were extremely thirsty. In front of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was a small leather container from which he used to perform ablution. The people began to look at that container with longing eyes. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What is the matter? They submitted: O Messenger of Allah! Other than the water present before you, we have no water to drink or to perform ablution. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) placed both his hands in that leather container. Water began to gush forth from his fingers like springs. We drank the water and performed ablution. Salim bin Abi Ja’d says that I asked Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): How many people were you that day? He said: Even if we had been one hundred thousand, that water would have sufficed us; as it was, our number was fifteen hundred.
Hadith 11294
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We were on a journey with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the companions did not find any water. Then a brass vessel filled with water was brought. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his blessed hand in it and spread his fingers. I saw that water was gushing forth from his (peace and blessings be upon him) fingers. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Come towards the water for ablution and the blessing sent down by Allah." A'mash says: Salim bin Abi Ja'd informed me that he asked Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): How many people were there that day? He replied: We were fifteen hundred (1500).
Hadith 11295
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the morning in such a state that there was absolutely no water with the army (for people’s needs). A man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! There is absolutely no water in the army. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Do you have any water with you? He replied: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Bring that water to me. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: A vessel was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in which there was a little water. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) put his fingers into the mouth of the vessel and slightly spread his fingers, and springs of water gushed forth from between the fingers of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered Bilal to announce among the people that there is blessed water available for ablution.
Hadith 11296
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the call for prayer was given. Those whose houses were near the mosque all got up and went to their homes (so that they could perform ablution and return). Only those people remained whose houses were far from the mosque. A small stone vessel was brought to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); it was so small that he (peace and blessings be upon him) could not spread his palm in it. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) joined his fingers together. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: All the people performed ablution. Humaid says: Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked how many people there were. He replied that there were eighty or a little more than that.
Hadith 11297
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was seated at the place of Zawra. A vessel was brought to him in which there was not even enough water for his fingers to be submerged. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the companions to perform ablution and placed his palm in the water. Water began to flow from between his fingers and from their edges, until all the people had performed ablution. Qatadah says: I asked Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): How many people were you? He replied: We were three hundred.
Hadith 11298
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that at the time of the Asr prayer, I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). People searched for water to perform ablution, but they could not find any water. The water for the ablution of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was presented to him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his blessed hand in that vessel and ordered the people to perform ablution with that water. I saw water gushing forth from beneath the blessed fingers of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The people began to perform ablution, until all of them had completed their ablution.
Hadith 11299
It is narrated from Thabit, who says: I said to Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): O Abu Hamzah! Please relate to us some of those wondrous things (i.e., miracles) which you yourself witnessed and which you do not narrate from anyone else. He said: One day, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led the Zuhr prayer, then he walked and sat at those places where Jibreel (peace be upon him) used to come to him. Meanwhile, Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came and called the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for the Asr prayer. (Upon hearing this) those whose residences were in Madinah Munawwarah all went to their homes so that they could relieve themselves and return with ablution, while some of the Muhajireen whose families were not in Madinah Munawwarah remained behind. A wide-mouthed vessel of water was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He placed his blessed hand in it, but his hand could not fit entirely in the vessel, so he gathered four fingers together and placed them in the vessel and said: Come close and perform ablution. During this, the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) remained in the vessel until all the people had performed ablution. I asked: Abu Hamzah! What do you think, how many people were there? He replied: Between seventy and eighty.
Hadith 11300
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on a military expedition or a journey, and our number was a little more than two hundred and ten. During this time, the time for prayer arrived. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Does anyone have water?" (Upon hearing this) a man came running with a vessel in which there was a small amount of water. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) poured that water into a bowl and performed ablution thoroughly. After that, he moved back and let the people remain there. All the people gathered near the bowl and began to touch the water. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the crowd and noise of the people and said: "Be patient." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his hand in the water and the bowl and said: "Bismillah." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Complete your ablution." (Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, says:) By Him Who has tested me regarding my eyesight: That day I saw streams of water flowing from between the blessed fingers of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), until all the people had performed ablution.
