It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when (before Prophethood) the Ka'bah was being rebuilt, Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also began to carry stones. Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: To protect yourself from the pain of the stones, remove your waistcloth and place it on your neck. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) accepted his suggestion, but as soon as he did so, he (peace and blessings be upon him) fell unconscious to the ground and his eyes turned towards the sky. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) got up and said: My cloak, give me my cloak. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and tied his cloak. The words of another narration are as follows: He fell unconscious, and after that, he was never seen in a naked state.

It is narrated from Urwah, who says: A neighbor of Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyidah Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her) told us that she heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying to Sayyidah Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her): "Khadijah! By Allah, I do not worship Lat and Uzza. By Allah, I will never worship them." Sayyidah replied: "Leave the worship of this Uzza (and do not worry)." The narrator says: Uzza was one of their idols; the Arabs used to worship it and then go to sleep.
