10 hadith
Hadith 11095
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Kharijah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon in Mina while riding on his she-camel. At that time, I was standing under the neck of the she-camel, and she was standing very calmly, chewing the cud, and her saliva was even falling on me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Surely Allah Almighty has given every rightful person his due right. No bequest can be made in favor of any legal heir. The child will be attributed to the one on whose bed he is born. Whoever claims the child’s lineage falsely is a fornicator and deserves to be stoned. And whoever attributes himself to anyone other than his father, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people. None of his obligatory or voluntary acts of worship will be accepted.

(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Kharijah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was riding his camel, and he delivered a sermon to us and said: The wealth of charity is not lawful for me nor for my family. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took a tuft of hair from the camel’s shoulder and said: Rather, even an amount equal to this from charity is not lawful for me. And whoever attributes himself to anyone other than his father, upon him is the curse of Allah. (The rest of the hadith is similar to the previous hadith.)

It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Amir Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon at Mina while riding on a mule. He (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing a red cloak. A companion from Badr was in front of him, and upon hearing the voice of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he would repeat his words loudly to convey them to the people. I came and placed my hand between the foot of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and the strap (of the saddle), and I was extremely astonished by the coolness of his blessed foot.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of Hajj, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon to the people and said: Beware! Indeed, time has returned to its original state and form, the same state and form in which Allah created it on the day He created the heavens and the earth. The year consists of twelve months, of which four are sacred months. Among them, Dhu al-Qa'dah, Dhu al-Hijjah, and Muharram are consecutive, and the fourth month is Rajab, which is between Jumada al-Thani and Sha'ban, and the tribe of Mudar greatly honors it. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What day is it today? We replied: Allah and His Messenger know best. Upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent for so long that we thought perhaps he would give it a new name. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Is it not the Day of Sacrifice (i.e., the day of sacrifice, the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah)? We replied: Yes. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What month is this? We replied: Allah and His Messenger know best. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent for so long that we thought perhaps he would give it a new name. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Is it not the month of Dhu al-Hijjah? We replied: Yes. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What city is this? We replied: Allah and His Messenger know best. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent for so long that we thought perhaps he would give it a new name. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Is it not the sacred city (i.e., the pure city)? We replied: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, your blood, your wealth, and your honor are sacred to one another just as the sanctity of this day, in this month, and in this city. Soon you will meet your Lord, and He will call you to account for your deeds. Beware! Do not go astray after me, striking the necks of one another. Beware! Have I conveyed the religion of Allah to you (or not)? Beware! Those of you who are present here should convey these words to those who are not present. It is possible that those to whom these words are conveyed may understand and remember them better than some of those who have heard them directly. (The narrator of the hadith, Muhammad ibn Sirin, said:) Indeed, it happened so. Some of those to whom these words were conveyed remembered them better than some of those who heard them directly.

Hadith 11100
(Second chain) This hadith is narrated in the same way, except that after the words: You will begin to strike each other's necks, it is mentioned: On the day when Jariyah bin Qudamah burned Ibn Hazrami, he said to his companions with bad intent: Now go towards Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him). The people said: This is Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him). Abdur Rahman, that is, the son of Abu Bakrah, said: My mother told me that Abu Bakrah said: If those people had come towards me, I would not have even pointed a reed at them in my defense.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) that when it was the day of 10th Dhul-Hijjah at Mina, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted a camel, and a man was holding its rein. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What day is this today?" We remained silent, thinking that perhaps the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would give this day another name. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself said: "Is it not the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Nahr)?" He then narrated the hadith as in the previous narration.

(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when it was the day of the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah in Mina, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted his camel and stood upon it and said: "Do you know what day it is today?" Then, the teacher of Imam Ahmad, Hawdhah bin Khalifah, narrated the hadith in the same manner as the other teacher of Imam Ahmad, Muhammad bin Abi Adi. In it, these words are also present: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Beware! Those who are present here should convey these words to those who are not present." He said this twice and then said: "Sometimes it happens that those to whom the message is conveyed remember it better than those who conveyed it." After this, he took his camel and went towards the goats and began distributing one goat among every two or three people.

It is narrated from Abdul Majeed Aqili, who says: We set out with the intention of Hajj during the era of Yazid bin Muhallab. He told us that in the region of Al-Aaliyah there is a place called Az-Zujayj. After performing the rites of Hajj, we reached Az-Zujayj. We made our mounts sit down and walked to a well where many elders were present. They had dyed their beards and were conversing among themselves. Abdul Majeed says: We asked them if there was a person here who had the honor of the company of Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Where is his house? They told us that indeed he is a companion of the Messenger and this is his house. We went to his house, greeted him with salam, and he allowed us to enter. He was quite old and was lying down. His name was ‘Ada bin Khalid Kilabi. I asked: Are you the elder who had the honor of the company of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? He said: Yes, if it were not night now, I would have read to you the letter that Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) wrote to me. He asked: Who are you people? We replied: We have come from Basra. He said: Welcome. What is Yazid bin Muhallab doing? We replied: There, he is calling towards the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: What business does he have with them? What is his connection with them? I asked: Then whom should we support, the people of Sham or Yazid? He said: If you remain neutral and sit apart, you will be successful. Abdul Majeed reported: I remember that he repeated this three times. Then he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of Arafah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) was standing with his feet in the stirrups of his camel and was proclaiming in a loud voice: O people! What day is this? The companions replied: Allah and His Messenger know best. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What month is this? The companions replied: Allah and His Messenger know best. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What city is this? The companions replied: Allah and His Messenger know best. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This is a sacred day, this is a sacred month, this is a sacred city. Beware! Indeed, your blood and your wealth are sacred to one another just as the sanctity of this day, in this city, and in this month, until the Day of Judgment. He will hold you accountable for your deeds on the Day of Judgment. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised both his hands towards the sky and said: O Allah! Bear witness over them, O Allah! Bear witness over them. He (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated this statement several times. I do not remember exactly how many times he (peace and blessings be upon him) said it.
