Hadith 11082
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon to us. He (peace and blessings be upon him) praised Allah as He deserves, then said: Indeed, the truest word is the Book of Allah, the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the worst matters are newly invented ones, and every innovation is misguidance. Then, whenever he (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned the Day of Judgment, his voice would become loud, his cheeks would turn red, and his anger would increase, as if he were warning of an approaching army. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: The Hour has come upon you; I and the Hour have been sent like these two (fingers close together). Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with his index and middle fingers. The Hour will come upon you in the morning or in the evening. Whoever dies leaving wealth, it is for his heirs, and whoever leaves a debt or children, then it is upon me and my responsibility. By “ḍayā‘” is meant poor children.
