بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي تَعْيِينِ يَوْمٍ وَفَاتِهِ وَمُدَّةِ عُمُرِهِ ﷺ
Chapter on What Has Been Reported Regarding the Specification of the Day of His Death and the Length of His Life ﷺ
Hadith 11063
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ وُلِدَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْإِثْنَيْنِ وَاسْتُنْبِئَ يَوْمَ الْإِثْنَيْنِ وَتُوُفِّيَ يَوْمَ الْإِثْنَيْنِ وَخَرَجَ مُهَاجِرًا مِنْ مَكَّةَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ يَوْمَ الْإِثْنَيْنِ وَقَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ يَوْمَ الْإِثْنَيْنِ وَرَفَعَ الْحَجَرَ الْأَسْوَدَ يَوْمَ الْإِثْنَيْنِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was born on a Monday, received prophethood on a Monday, and passed away on a Monday. He (peace and blessings be upon him) set out from Makkah Mukarramah to Madinah Munawwarah for migration on a Monday and arrived in Madinah Munawwarah on a Monday, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) lifted the Black Stone on a Monday as well.
Hadith 11064
عَنْ جَرِيرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ لِي حَبْرٌ بِالْيَمَنِ إِنْ كَانَ صَاحِبُكُمْ نَبِيًّا فَقَدْ مَاتَ الْيَوْمَ قَالَ جَرِيرٌ فَمَاتَ يَوْمَ الْإِثْنَيْنِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah Bajali, may Allah be pleased with him, who says: A Jewish scholar in Yemen said to me, "If your companion was a true Prophet, then today he has passed away." Sayyiduna Jarir, may Allah be pleased with him, says: Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away on a Monday.
Hadith 11065
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ خَمْسٍ وَسِتِّينَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away at the age of sixty-five years.
Hadith 11066
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ أُنْزِلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ فَمَكَثَ بِمَكَّةَ عَشْرًا وَبِالْمَدِينَةِ عَشْرًا وَقُبِضَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the revelation began to descend upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), his blessed age was forty-three years. After that, he stayed in Makkah Mukarramah for ten years and in Madinah Munawwarah for ten years, and he passed away at the age of sixty-three years.
Hadith 11067
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ قُبِضَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away at the age of sixty-three years.
Hadith 11068
جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ وَتُوُفِّيَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ وَتُوُفِّيَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ وَأَنَا الْيَوْمَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I heard Sayyiduna Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) saying in a sermon that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away at the age of sixty-three, and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) also passed away at the age of sixty-three, and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) also passed away at the age of sixty-three. Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) further said that now my age has also reached sixty-three.
