Hadith 11047
عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ ابْنِ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ (عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ) قَالَ كُفِّنَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَبْعَةِ أَثْوَابٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was shrouded in seven garments.
Hadith 11048
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُفِّنَ فِي ثَلَاثَةِ أَثْوَابٍ فِي قَمِيصِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ وَحُلَّةٍ نَجْرَانِيَّةٍ الْحُلَّةُ ثَوْبَانِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was shrouded in three garments: one was a shirt in which he, peace and blessings be upon him, passed away, and there was a Najrani suit (set), and a suit consists of two garments.
Hadith 11049
(وَعَنْهُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَيْضًا) قَالَ كُفِّنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بُرْدَيْنِ أَبْيَضَيْنِ وَبُرْدٍ أَحْمَرَ
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was shrouded in two white sheets and one red sheet.
Hadith 11050
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُفِّنَ فِي ثَلَاثَةِ أَثْوَابٍ سُحُولِيَّةٍ بِيضٍ وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فِي أَيِّ شَيْءٍ كُفِّنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُلْتُ فِي ثَلَاثَةِ أَثْوَابٍ (وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ فِي ثَلَاثَةِ رِيَاطٍ يَمَانِيَّةٍ) قَالَ كَفِّنُونِي فِي ثَوْبَيَّ هَذَيْنِ وَاشْتَرُوا ثَوْبًا آخَرَ
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was shrouded in three white garments made in Sahool. And when Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was near death, he inquired: "In how many garments was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) shrouded?" I replied: "In three garments." In another narration, it is mentioned: "In three Yemeni sheets." Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Shroud me in these two (in use) garments of mine, and buy one more garment."
Hadith 11051
عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ أُدْرِجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي ثَوْبِ حِبَرَةٍ ثُمَّ أُخِذَ عَنْهُ قَالَ الْقَاسِمُ إِنَّ بَقَايَا ذَلِكَ الثَّوْبِ لَعِنْدَنَا بَعْدُ
It is narrated from Qasim bin Muhammad that Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) stated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was covered with a striped cloth, then that cloth was removed. Qasim bin Muhammad stated: Some remaining pieces of that cloth are still with us.
