Hadith 11006
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that during the illness of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we tried to put medicine in his mouth, but he (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured that do not give me medicine in this way. I said that you (peace and blessings be upon him) are disliking medicine like an ordinary patient, but when you (peace and blessings be upon him) regained consciousness, you (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Did I not forbid you people from putting medicine in my mouth? Then you (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Now medicine should be put in the mouth of each one of you, except Abbas, because he was not present at that time.

It is narrated from Hisham bin Urwah that my father (Urwah) told me that Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said to him: My nephew! I saw a strange thing from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding his respect for his uncle (Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him). He used to have severe pain in his side. We used to say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had kidney pain; we did not call it pain of the side. One day, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) again had such severe pain that he fell unconscious, and we began to fear for his life. Everyone rushed to him in panic. We thought that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had contracted pleurisy, so we poured medicine into one corner of his mouth. After a while, that condition left the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When he regained consciousness and realized that medicine had been put in his mouth, and he also felt the effect of the medicine in his mouth, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you think that Allah has afflicted me with this illness? Allah will never afflict me with it. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, everyone in the house, except my uncle Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him), must have this medicine put in their mouth. I saw that the medicine was being put in each person's mouth. On that day, all the people present in the house, Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) mentioned all their names and their virtues. After all the men had the medicine put in their mouths, it was the turn of the pure wives. The medicine was put in the mouth of each one of them as well. According to the narration of Ibn Abi Lazanad, when it was the turn of Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), and according to other reports, when it was the turn of Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyida Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: By Allah, I am fasting today. But we said: You are mistaken if you think we will leave you out; the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has sworn to this. Nephew! By Allah, she was fasting, and we poured the medicine into her mouth as well.
Hadith 11008
Sayyida Asma bint Umais (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the illness of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) began in the house of Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). The illness of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) became so severe that he fell unconscious. The wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) consulted each other and poured medicine into his mouth. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regained consciousness, he asked: “What is this?” We replied: “This is the doing of the women who came from the land of Abyssinia.” Sayyida Asma bint Umais (may Allah be pleased with her) was among those women. She said: “O Messenger of Allah! We thought you were suffering from pneumonia.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Pneumonia is such a disease that Allah, the Exalted, will never afflict me with it. Now, everyone in the house, except for the uncle of the Messenger of Allah, Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), should have this medicine poured into their mouths.” The narrator says: In view of the oath of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), the medicine was also poured into the mouth of Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), even though she was fasting.
Hadith 11009
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) fell ill with his final illness, he would recite the Mu'awwidhat and blow over himself. Sayyida Aisha says: When the illness of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) became severe, I would recite these Surahs and, due to the blessing of his hand, I would pass his hand over his body.
Hadith 11010
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fell ill, I would take his blessed hand and pass it over his blessed chest and supplicate with these words: "Adhhib al-ba's, Rabb an-nas" (O Lord of the people! Remove the illness), but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) withdrew his hand from mine and said: "As'alu Allah ar-Rafiq al-A'la al-As'ad" (I ask Allah for the companionship of the Most High, the Most Blessed).
Hadith 11011
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would fall ill, I would recite over him the supplication with which Jibreel (peace be upon him) used to recite over him and supplicate, and I also began to recite this supplication over the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Remove the illness, Lord of the people, healing is in Your hand, there is no healer except You, grant such a healing that leaves behind no sickness." (O Lord of the people! Remove the illness, healing is in Your hand, no one can grant healing except You, grant such a healing that leaves no trace of illness.) When I began to recite this supplication for him during his final illness, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Get up from beside me, this supplication used to benefit me in previous illnesses (now it will not benefit, because now the time of death has come and it will not be averted)."
Hadith 11012
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said during his final illness: "Pour water from seven water skins over me, whose mouths have not been untied, perhaps I will feel some relief and be able to speak to the people." Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: We seated the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a tub belonging to Sayyidah Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her), which was made of copper, and we began to pour water over him from those water skins, until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to gesture to us that you have completed the task. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went outside (towards the mosque).
