Hadith 10955
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that when ten verses of Surah Bara’ah were revealed, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and, giving him these verses, sent him to recite them before the people of Makkah. Then he (the Prophet) called me (Ali) and said: Go and join Abu Bakr; wherever you meet him, take this message from him and then go and recite it before the people of Makkah. So I met Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) at Juhfa and took the letter from him. Then when Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) returned to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he asked: O Messenger of Allah! Has any command been revealed regarding me? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No, there is no command regarding you, but Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to me and said that either you should deliver the message yourself or someone from your family should deliver it.
Hadith 10956
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) to the people of Makkah to announce the declaration of Bara’ah, I was also accompanying Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). The narrator says: I asked Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), “What would you announce?” He said: We would announce that only the people of faith will enter Paradise, and henceforth no one will circumambulate the House of Allah naked, and whoever has any kind of covenant with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), its duration is four months. After four months, Allah and His Messenger will be completely dissociated from the polytheists. After this year, no polytheist will be able to circumambulate the House of Allah. I would announce this in such a loud voice that my voice would become hoarse.
Hadith 10957
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) sent him along with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) for the proclamation of Bara’ah. When they reached the place of Dhu’l-Hulayfah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: This proclamation before the people of Makkah can only be made by myself or someone from my family. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) sent Sayyiduna Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) after them with this message.
