Hadith 10950
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that on the day Najashi passed away, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us of his death on that very day. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) proceeded towards the place of funeral or the Eid ground, formed rows of his noble companions, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pronounced four takbirs.
Hadith 10951
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Today, a righteous man from Abyssinia has passed away, so come and form rows." Thus, we formed rows and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and we offered the funeral prayer.
Hadith 10952
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Abdullah bin Ubayy, the hypocrite, died, his son Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a Muslim, came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Grant me your shirt so that I may shroud my father in it, and lead his funeral prayer, and seek forgiveness for him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him his shirt and said: Inform me at the time (of the funeral). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stepped forward to lead the prayer, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Allah Almighty has forbidden you from performing the funeral prayer for the hypocrites. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: I have been given a choice; Allah Almighty has said: Whether you seek forgiveness for them or do not seek forgiveness for them. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the funeral prayer, and then Allah Almighty revealed this command: {وَلَا تُصَلِّ عَلٰی أَحَدٍ مِنْہُمْ مَاتَ أَبَدًا} … And never pray the funeral prayer for any of them who dies.
Hadith 10953
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Abdullah bin Ubayy passed away, his son came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! If you do not come for my father's funeral prayer, we will always be taunted for it. So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went, and saw that he had already been placed in the grave. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Why did you not call me before placing him in the grave? Then he was taken out from his grave, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) applied his blessed saliva from his head to his feet, and clothed him in his own shirt.
Hadith 10954
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that I went, in the company of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), to visit Abdullah bin Ubayy during his illness at the time of his death. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: I used to forbid you from loving the Jews. He replied: As'ad bin Zurarah (may Allah be pleased with him) also harbored enmity towards these Jews, but in the end, he too died.
