Hadith 10891
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Walid bin Uqbah that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) conquered Makkah, the people of Makkah began bringing their children to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) so that he might place his blessed hand on their heads and supplicate for them. I too was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and since I had applied perfume (khaluq), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not place his hand on my head! In Bukhari and Muslim, the words at this place are: وَلَا فَارًّا بِجِزْیَۃٍ "nor does it grant protection to one who flees after causing mischief." (Abdullah Rafiq)
My mother had applied this perfume to me, and because of it, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not place his hand on my head.
Hadith 10892
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym that Muhammad bin Aswad bin Khalaf related to him that his father and Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taking allegiance from the people on the day of the conquest of Makkah. The Prophet was seated at a place called Qarn Musqalah. He took allegiance from the people for Islam and for the testimony. Abdullah bin Uthman says, I asked them what was meant by the testimony? So they informed that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took allegiance from the people for faith in Allah, for the oneness of Allah, and for the testimony of the servitude and messengership of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Thus, I would also say in the same way as they used to say.
Hadith 10893
عَنْ مُجَاشِعِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا مُجَالِدُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ يُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ فَقَالَ {لَا هِجْرَةَ بَعْدَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ وَلَكِنْ أُبَايِعُهُ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ}
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mujashi‘ bin Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I submitted, “O Messenger of Allah! This is Mujalid bin Mas‘ud, he wants to pledge allegiance to you for migration.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “There is no migration after the conquest of Makkah, however, I will take the pledge of allegiance to Islam from him.”
Hadith 10894
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) that Sayyida Fatima bint Utbah bin Rabi’ah came to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to pledge allegiance. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took her pledge of allegiance according to the verse of Surah Al-Mumtahina {أَنْ لَا یُشْرِکْنَ بِاللّٰہِ شَیْئًا وَلَا یَسْرِقْنَ وَلَا یَزْنِینَ}. Out of modesty and shyness, she placed her hand on her head. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) liked this state of hers very much. At that moment, Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O woman! You should openly acknowledge these matters. By Allah, we also pledged allegiance on these very matters. She replied, “Alright, fine,” and then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took her pledge of allegiance in the light of this verse.
Hadith 10895
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha bint Qudama (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: I was with my mother, Sayyida Ra’ita bint Sufyan Khuzaiyya (may Allah be pleased with her), when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was taking the pledge of allegiance from women, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was saying: I take the pledge from you that you will not associate anything with Allah, you will not steal, you will not commit adultery, you will not kill your children, you will not slander, and you will not disobey in goodness. When the women heard these things, they bowed their heads, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: Say that it is fine, your pledge is only to the extent of what you are able. So they began to say, “Yes,” and I was also saying it with them. Then my mother instructed me and said: My dear daughter! Say this as well: as much as I am able.
