It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, entered Makkah Mukarramah on the occasion of the conquest of Makkah, and at that time there was a helmet on his head. When he, peace and blessings be upon him, removed it, a man came and submitted to him, peace and blessings be upon him, that Ibn Khatal, the disbeliever, is hanging onto the curtains of the Ka'bah. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Kill him. Imam Malik states that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was not in the state of Ihram that day. And Allah knows best.

It is narrated from Amir Sha’bi that he narrates from Abdullah bin Muti’ bin Aswad, a member of Banu Adi bin Ka’b, and he narrates from his father, Sayyiduna Muti’ (may Allah be pleased with him). The former name of Sayyiduna Muti’ (may Allah be pleased with him) was ‘Asi; the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) changed his name to Muti’. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) issued the order to kill those people in Makkah, I heard him say: “After today, there will never be an attack on Makkah, and after this year, no Quraishi will ever be killed in this manner (i.e., due to disbelief and apostasy).” In another narration it is stated: “And Islam did not find anyone among the Quraish named ‘Asi, except for Sayyiduna Muti’ (may Allah be pleased with him).”

It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Hani Fakhita bint Abu Talib (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: On the day of the conquest of Makkah, I gave refuge to two of my in-laws and, after bringing them into the house, I closed the door. My own mother's son, Sayyiduna Ali bin Abu Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), came and drew his sword against them. I went to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but I could not find him. However, Sayyida Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) was present, but she was even stricter with me in this matter than her husband. Meanwhile, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived, and there were traces of dust on him. When I told him my situation, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Umm Hani! Those whom you have given refuge, we have also given them refuge, and those whom you have granted safety, we have also granted them safety.
