It is narrated from Sayyida Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed at Dhi Tuwa, Abu Quhafa said to his youngest daughter: "Daughter! Take me to Mount Abi Qubais." At that time, he had become blind. She narrates: I took him up the mountain. He said: "Daughter, what do you see?" The daughter said: "I see a gathered army." He said: "These are horses." She said: "I see a man running back and forth among the armies." He said: "Daughter! This man is giving instructions to the horsemen." Then, by Allah, she saw that the army scattered. He said: "By Allah, now the horses have started running. Quickly take me home." I brought him down the mountain, and before he reached home, he met the horsemen. There was a silver necklace around the girl's neck; a man grabbed it and took it off her neck. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah and entered Masjid al-Haram, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) brought his father's hand and presented him to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw him coming like this, he said: "You could have let the elder stay at home; I would have gone to him myself." But Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah! He is more deserving to come to you than for you to go to him." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) seated Abu Quhafa (may Allah be pleased with him) in front of him, placed his hand on his chest, and said: "Enter Islam." So he accepted Islam. When Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) brought his father to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), his hair had become white like the Thaghamah herb due to old age. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Change the whiteness of his hair." Then Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up holding his sister's hand and said: "O people! I ask you by Allah and Islam, whoever has my sister's necklace, let him return it." But when no one responded affirmatively, he said: "Sister! Hope for reward from Allah for being deprived of the necklace."
