Hadith 10833
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out with the intention of performing Umrah, the disbelievers of Quraysh came between him and the House of Allah. There, at the place of Hudaybiyyah, he sacrificed his sacrificial camels, shaved his head, and made a treaty with them, in which it was agreed that he would come the following year to perform Umrah and would not take up arms against the Quraysh of Makkah. The Muslims would only have swords with them, and they would stay in Makkah only for as many days as the Quraysh permitted. Accordingly, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came the next year and performed Umrah. As per the agreement, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah. When three days had passed, the Quraysh demanded that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) depart, so he left from there.
Hadith 10834
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ اعْتَمَرَ فَطَافَ وَطُفْنَا مَعَهُ وَصَلَّى وَصَلَّيْنَا مَعَهُ وَسَعَى بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ وَكُنَّا نَسْتُرُهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ لَا يُصِيبُهُ أَحَدٌ بِشَيْءٍ زَادَ فِي رِوَايَةٍ قَالَ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَدْعُو عَلَى الْأَحْزَابِ يَقُولُ {اللَّهُمَّ مُنْزِلَ الْكِتَابِ سَرِيعَ الْحِسَابِ هَازِمَ الْأَحْزَابِ اللَّهُمَّ اهْزِمْهُمْ وَزَلْزِلْهُمْ}
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Umrah, we were with him. When he performed Tawaf, we also performed Tawaf with him. When he offered prayer, we also prayed with him. And when he performed Sa’i between Safa and Marwah, we also performed Sa’i with him. We stayed around him, defending him from the people of Makkah, so that none of the people of Makkah could harm him. I heard him supplicating against the enemy groups of Islam: “O Allah! Revealer of the Book, Swift in reckoning, Defeater of the confederates, O Allah, defeat them and shake them.” (O Allah! The One who revealed the Book, the One who takes account swiftly, the One who defeats all groups, O Allah, defeat them and shake them.)
Hadith 10835
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of ‘Umrah al-Qada, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Makkah Mukarramah, (after the appointed time had passed) the Quraysh of Makkah came to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: Tell your companion (the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him) that the appointed time has ended, therefore he should depart from here. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from Makkah Mukarramah.
Hadith 10836
It is narrated from Abu Tufail that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) stated that on the occasion of the Umrah of Qada, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) reached the place of Marraz-Zahran, the companions heard that the Quraysh were talking about the weakness of the Muslims’ bodies. So the companions suggested, “If we slaughter some of our camels and eat their meat and make broth to drink, then when we appear before them, we will look well-fed and healthy.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Do not do that, rather gather your provisions in one place.” The companions gathered all the food in one place, spread out leather mats, and everyone ate until they were full, and each one filled his own bag with food as well. After that, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Masjid al-Haram, while the Quraysh were sitting towards the side of the Hijr (Hatim). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed idtiba’ with his cloak (i.e., during tawaf, he passed the middle part of his cloak under his right armpit and placed both ends over his left shoulder, thus exposing his right shoulder; this act is called idtiba’). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Let not these Quraysh feel any weakness in you.” Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) touched the Black Stone and began the tawaf with ramal (brisk walking), until when he reached the Yemeni Corner and was out of sight of the Quraysh, he walked normally up to the Black Stone. When the Quraysh saw their condition, they said, “These people are not content with walking normally during tawaf, rather they are leaping and skipping like deer.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ramal in three circuits (and walked normally between the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone), thus this act became a Sunnah. Abu Tufail says: Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) informed me that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also performed this act during the Farewell Hajj.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and the noble Companions came to Makkah Mukarramah on the occasion of the compensatory ‘Umrah, the condition of the Muslims was such that the fever of Yathrib had weakened them. Because of this, the polytheists said: Such people are coming to you whom the fever of Yathrib has weakened. Allah Almighty informed the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) of this matter, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the Companions to perform ramal (brisk walking) during tawaf. The polytheists, sitting towards the side of Hatim, were watching the Muslims. The Muslims performed ramal, but between Rukn Yamani and Hajar Aswad, they walked at a normal pace. Seeing this situation, the polytheists said: These are the very people about whom you were saying that the fever has weakened them; they are indeed very strong. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ramal only in the first three circuits and not afterwards. Out of compassion for the Muslims, he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not order running in all the circuits.
