It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We set out in the company of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr bin Abi Quhafa (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had appointed him as our leader. We intended to attack the tribe of Fazarah. When we reached near the water of our destination, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered us, and we rested for a while in the last part of the night. When we performed the Fajr prayer, we launched a sudden attack by the order of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), and we killed many people near that water. Sayyiduna Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Then I saw a group of people heading towards the mountain, among them were women and children. I started running after them, fearing that they would reach the mountain before me, so I shot arrows at them which fell between them and the mountain. Then I captured those people and brought them to Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) near the water. Among them was a woman from Banu Fazarah, who had an old leather sheet over her, and with her was her daughter, who was one of the most beautiful girls among the Arabs. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) granted her daughter to me as an extra share. I did not have any relations with her until we reached Madinah Munawwarah, and the night passed in the same way. When I met the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the market, he said: O Salamah! Gift that woman to me. I said: O Messenger of Allah! By Allah, she is very dear to me, but I have not even lifted her garment yet. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent and left me. The next day, when you met me again in the market, you (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Salamah! May your father be blessed, gift that woman to me. I said: O Messenger of Allah! By Allah, she is very dear to me, and I have not yet lifted her garment. O Messenger of Allah! Now she is for you. There were some Muslim prisoners with the people of Makkah, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent that woman to the people of Makkah as ransom for those Muslims.
