Chapter on the Division of the Spoils of Khaybar and That It Was Specifically for the People of Hudaybiyyah
Hadith 10826
عَنْ مُجَمِّعِ ابْنِ جَارِيَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ وَكَانَ أَحَدَ الْقُرَّاءِ الَّذِينَ قَرَءُوا الْقُرْآنَ قَالَ شَهِدْنَا الْحُدَيْبِيَةَ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفْنَا عَنْهَا إِذَا النَّاسُ يُنْفِرُونَ الْأَبَاعِرَ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ مَا لِلنَّاسِ قَالُوا أُوحِيَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَخَرَجْنَا مَعَ النَّاسِ نُوجِفُ حَتَّى وَجَدْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ عِنْدَ كُرَاعِ الْغَمِيمِ وَاجْتَمَعَ النَّاسُ إِلَيْهِ فَقَرَأَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُبِينًا [الفتح: 1] فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَفَتْحٌ هُوَ قَالَ أَيْ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ إِنَّهُ لَفَتْحٌ فَقُسِمَتْ خَيْبَرُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ لَمْ يُدْخِلْ مَعَهُمْ فِيهَا أَحَدًا إِلَّا مَنْ شَهِدَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةَ فَقَسَمَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى ثَمَانِيَةَ عَشَرَ سَهْمًا وَكَانَ الْجَيْشُ أَلْفًا وَخَمْسَ مِائَةٍ فِيهِمْ ثَلَاثُ مِائَةِ فَارِسٍ فَأَعْطَى الْفَارِسَ سَهْمَيْنِ وَأَعْطَى الرَّاجِلَ سَهْمًا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Majma’ bin Jariyah Ansari, may Allah be pleased with him, who was among those reciters who had learned the Qur’an, he says: We were present at Hudaybiyyah, and when we returned from there, people suddenly began to urge their camels to move quickly. People asked each other: What has happened? Others replied that revelation had descended upon the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. We too hurried our camels along with the others. We found the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, at the place of Kara’ Ghamim, mounted on his ride, people were gathered around him, and he, peace and blessings be upon him, recited before them {اِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَکَ فَتْحًا مُّبِیْنَا۔} that is, Surah al-Fath. One of the Companions said: O Messenger of Allah! Is this truly a victory for us? He, peace and blessings be upon him, replied: By Him in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad! Indeed, it is surely a victory. After this, the spoils of the Battle of Khaybar were distributed only among those who were present at Hudaybiyyah, and no one else was included with them. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, divided those spoils into eighteen shares. There were fifteen hundred men in the army, among whom were three hundred horsemen, so he, peace and blessings be upon him, gave the horsemen two shares each and the foot soldiers one share each.
Hadith 10827
عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ مَا شَهِدْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَغْنَمًا قَطُّ إِلَّا قَسَمَ لِي إِلَّا خَيْبَرَ فَإِنَّهَا كَانَتْ لِأَهْلِ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ خَاصَّةً وَكَانَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبُو مُوسَى جَاءَا بَيْنَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ وَخَيْبَرَ
It is narrated from Ammar bin Abi Ammar, he says: Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) stated that in every battle I attended with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) except the Battle of Khaybar, he granted me a share from the spoils of war. The spoils of Khaybar were reserved for the people of Hudaybiyyah. Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) came during the period between Hudaybiyyah and Khaybar.
