Hadith 10653
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ فَنَزَلَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَانِبَ الْحَرَّةِ ثُمَّ بَعَثَ إِلَى الْأَنْصَارِ فَجَاءُوا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَلَّمُوا عَلَيْهِمَا وَقَالُوا ارْكَبَا آمِنَيْنِ مُطْمَئِنَّيْنِ قَالَ فَرَكِبَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَحَفُّوا حَوْلَهُمَا بِالسِّلَاحِ قَالَ فَقِيلَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ جَاءَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ فَاسْتَشْرَفُوا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيْهِ وَيَقُولُونَ جَاءَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ فَأَقْبَلَ يَسِيرُ حَتَّى جَاءَ إِلَى جَانِبِ دَارِ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ قَالُوا فَإِنَّهُ لَيُحَدِّثُ أَهْلَهَا إِذْ سَمِعَ بِهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ وَهُوَ فِي نَخْلٍ لِأَهْلِهِ يَخْتَرِفُ لَهُمْ مِنْهُ فَعَجِلَ أَنْ يَضَعَ الَّذِي يَخْتَرِفُ فِيهَا فَجَاءَ وَهِيَ مَعَهُ فَسَمِعَ مِنْ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَجَعَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّ بُيُوتِ أَهْلِنَا أَقْرَبُ قَالَ فَقَالَ أَبُو أَيُّوبَ أَنَا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ هَذِهِ دَارِي وَهَذَا بَابِي قَالَ فَانْطَلِقْ فَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مَقِيلًا قَالَ فَذَهَبَ فَهَيَّأَ لَهُمَا مَقِيلًا ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ قَدْ هَيَّأْتُ لَكُمَا مَقِيلًا فَقُومَا عَلَى بَرَكَةِ اللَّهِ فَقِيلَا فَلَمَّا جَاءَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَاءَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ فَقَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ حَقًّا وَأَنَّكَ جِئْتَ بِحَقٍّ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ الْيَهُودُ أَنِّي سَيِّدُهُمْ وَابْنُ سَيِّدِهِمْ وَأَعْلَمُهُمْ وَابْنُ أَعْلَمِهِمْ فَادْعُهُمْ فَاسْأَلْهُمْ فَدَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْيَهُودِ وَيْلَكُمْ اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ فَوَالَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ إِنَّكُمْ لَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ حَقًّا وَأَنِّي جِئْتُكُمْ بِحَقٍّ أَسْلِمُوا قَالُوا مَا نَعْلَمُهُ ثَلَاثًا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) migrated and arrived in Madinah Munawwarah, they stayed at one side of Harrah and sent word to the Ansar about their arrival. The Ansar came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), greeted both of them, and said, “Ride into the city with peace and tranquility.” So the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) mounted their respective rides, and the people surrounded them with drawn weapons. The news spread in Madinah Munawwarah that the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had arrived. So people rushed towards him to see him, and they joyfully kept saying, “The Prophet of Allah has arrived.” As he walked, he reached near the house of Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him). The people said that he would start talking to the family of Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him). At that time, Abdullah bin Salam was picking dates for his family in his family’s orchard. He also heard the news of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) arrival, and he came to his service so quickly and hurriedly that he was still carrying the dates. He came and listened to the Prophet’s conversation. After that, he went to his house. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Whose house among our relatives is the closest to here?” So Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “O Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! This is my house and my door.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Alright, go and prepare a place for us.” Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) went and prepared a place for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). He came and said, “O Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I have prepared a place for both of you. Please rise and come with the blessing of Allah’s name and rest.” When the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to his house, Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived and said, “I bear witness that you are truly the Messenger of Allah and have been sent with the call of truth and the religion of truth. The Jews know that I am their chief and the son of their chief, and I am their greatest scholar and the son of their greatest scholar. Call these Jews and ask them about me.” The Jews came, and the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them, “O Jews! Fear Allah, by Allah, besides whom there is no deity. You certainly know that I am truly the Messenger of Allah, and I have come to you with the religion of truth and the call of truth. Accept Islam.” But they said, “We do not know this.”
