Hadith 10602
It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Ubada bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was present at the first pledge of ‘Aqabah; we were twelve men in total. We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on those matters which are mentioned in the pledge of women. This pledge took place before fighting and jihad were made obligatory. We pledged that we would not associate anything with Allah, would not steal, would not commit adultery, would not kill our children, would not fabricate slander, and would not disobey you (peace and blessings be upon him) in matters of goodness. If you fulfill this pledge, Paradise will be for you, and if you oppose in any matter, then your affair is with Allah; if He wills, He will punish you, and if He wills, He will forgive you.
Hadith 10603
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Ubada bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him), who was one of the Nuqaba, he says: We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to fight. Sayyiduna ‘Ubada bin Samit was among those twelve individuals who pledged allegiance at the First ‘Aqaba on those matters upon which women would pledge allegiance. The pledge was that we would listen to and obey the Khalifah in hardship and ease, in pleasure and displeasure, and we would not dispute the authority of those who are worthy of leadership, we would speak the truth wherever it may be, and we would not fear the blame of any blamer in the matter of Allah Almighty.
