It is narrated from the brother of Banu Abd al-Ashhal, Sayyiduna Mahmood bin Labeed (may Allah be pleased with him), that Abu Jalees Anas bin Rafi’ came to Makkah Mukarramah, and with him was Sayyiduna Iyas bin Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him). They wanted to make the Quraysh their allies against their own tribe, Khazraj. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) learned of their arrival, he came to them, sat down, and said: “For the purpose you have come, would you like something better than that?” They asked: “What is that?” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “I am the Messenger of Allah. He has sent me to His servants. I invite people to worship Allah and not associate anything with Him, and He has revealed a Book to me.” Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned Islam to them and recited the Holy Qur’an before them. Hearing this, the young boy Iyas bin Mu’adh said: “O my people! By Allah, what you have come for, this is better than that.” Hearing this comment, Abu Jalees Anas scooped up a handful of dust from the valley of Batha and threw it on the face of Iyas bin Mu’adh. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up from among them, and those people returned to Madinah. When the battle of Bu’ath occurred between Aws and Khazraj, Sayyiduna Iyas (may Allah be pleased with him) soon died in it. Sayyiduna Mahmood bin Labeed (may Allah be pleased with him) says: “Those people of my tribe who were present with Iyas at the time of his death informed me that they kept hearing Iyas saying: ‘La ilaha illallah, Allahu Akbar, Alhamdulillah, Subhanallah,’ until he passed away. Those people were certain that he died in the state of Islam. He had understood Islam from the very gathering of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in Makkah.”
Hadith 10600
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: Allah Almighty had ordained the day of the incident of Bu'ath before the arrival of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah Munawwarah, their group had already been scattered, their leaders had been killed, and they showed leniency for Allah Almighty and His Messenger and entered into Islam.
Hadith 10601
Narrated by Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would present himself to the people at the standing place (of Arafat) and say: Is there any man who will take me to his people so that I may convey the Word of Allah to them, for the Quraysh have prevented me from doing so? A man from Hamdan came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: Which tribe are you from? He replied: I am from Hamdan. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Does your people have strength and honor? He said: Yes, but then the man became afraid that his people might consider him insignificant, so he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I am going to my people, I will inform them of these details and then come to you next year. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Alright. So he left, and then in the month of Rajab, a delegation of the Ansar came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
