بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي ذَهَابِهِ ﷺ إِلَى الْطَائِفِ لَمَّا اشْتَدَّ عليه إيذاء قريش بَعْدَ مَوْتِ عَمِّهِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ مسْتَنْجِدًا وَرَدَهُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَسْوَأَرَدٍ
Chapter: What has been reported regarding his ﷺ journey to Ta'if when the harm of Quraysh intensified after the death of his uncle Abu Talib, seeking support, and their harsh rejection
Hadith 10562
عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْعَدْوَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ أَبْصَرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَشْرِقِ ثَقِيفٍ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ عَلَى قَوْسٍ أَوْ عَصًا حِينَ أَتَاهُمْ يَبْتَغِي عِنْدَهُمُ النَّصْرَ قَالَ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقْرَأُ {وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ} حَتَّى خَتَمَهَا قَالَ فَوَعَيْتُهَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَأَنَا مُشْرِكٌ ثُمَّ قَرَأْتُهَا فِي الْإِسْلَامِ قَالَ فَدَعَتْنِي ثَقِيفٌ فَقَالُوا مَاذَا سَمِعْتَ مِنْ هَذَا الرَّجُلِ فَقَرَأْتُهَا عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ مَنْ مَعَهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِصَاحِبِنَا لَوْ كُنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يَقُولُ حَقًّا لَتَبِعْنَاهُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khalid ‘Adwani (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the eastern side of Banu Thaqif, while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was standing leaning on a bow or a staff, and they had come to seek help from him. I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting the Surah with {وَالسَّمَائِ وَالطَّارِقِ}, until he (peace and blessings be upon him) completed the Surah. I had memorized this Surah even in the time of ignorance, in the state of polytheism, and then after embracing Islam, I learned it again. Banu Thaqif called me and said: What did you hear this man reciting? I recited Surah At-Tariq to them in response, but the Qurayshi people present with them said: We know our companion (Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him) better; if we knew that his words were true, we would certainly follow him.
Hadith 10563
عَنْ جُنْدُبٍ الْبَجَلِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَصَابَ إِصْبَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَيْءٍ وَقَالَ جَعْفَرٌ أَحَدُ الرُّوَاةِ حَجَرٌ فَدَمِيَتْ فَقَالَ ((هَلْ أَنْتِ إِلَّا إِصْبَعٌ دَمِيتِ وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ مَا لَقِيتِ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jundub Bajali, may Allah be pleased with him, that the noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, had his finger injured and bleeding due to something, and according to one narrator, by a stone. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, addressed that finger and said: "You are but a finger that has bled, and you have faced this pain in the path of Allah."
