It is narrated from Sayyiduna Yazid bin Arqam, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: The first person who prayed with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, or accepted Islam, was Sayyiduna Ali, may Allah be pleased with him. Amr, the narrator, says: When I told this to Ibrahim, the narrator, he denied this and said: The first person to become Muslim with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Afif Kindi (may Allah be pleased with him), who says: I was a merchant, I came for Hajj and met Sayyiduna ‘Abbas bin ‘Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) to buy some trade goods; he was also a merchant. By Allah, I was with him at Mina when a man came out from a nearby tent and looked at the sun. When he thought the sun had declined, he stood up and began to pray. Then a woman came out from the same tent and stood behind that man and began to pray. Then a boy, close to puberty, came out from the same tent and stood with the man to perform the prayer. I said to ‘Abbas: O ‘Abbas! Who is this man? He said: This is Muhammad bin ‘Abdullah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). I said: Who is this woman? He said: This is his wife Khadijah bint Khuwaylid. I said: Who is this boy? He said: This is his cousin ‘Ali bin Abi Talib. I said: What is he doing? He said: He is praying and claims that he is a Prophet, but so far, the only ones following him in this matter are his wife and this cousin of his. He believes that he will conquer the treasures of Kisra and Caesar. This ‘Afif was a cousin of Ash’ath bin Qays; later he became Muslim and his Islam became beautiful, and afterwards he used to say: If only Allah had granted me Islam at that time, and I would have been the third person to become Muslim along with Ibn Abi Talib.

Hadith 10507
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: After Sayyidah Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her), Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was the first to pray with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or to accept Islam.
Hadith 10508
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, he says: The first seven individuals to openly declare Islam were: the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir, his mother Sayyidah Sumayyah, Sayyiduna Suhaib, Sayyiduna Bilal, and Sayyiduna Miqdad. Allah Almighty granted protection to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, through his uncle Abu Talib, and to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, through his people. The rest of them were seized by the polytheists, who made them wear iron armor and tortured them by standing them in the sun. Every person would comply with their wishes, except for Sayyiduna Bilal, may Allah be pleased with him. He considered himself insignificant for the sake of Allah Almighty. Meanwhile, his people also considered him of little importance, so they handed him over to the children, or they would take Sayyiduna Bilal, may Allah be pleased with him, and make him wander through the valleys of Makkah, but Sayyiduna Bilal would keep saying: Allah is One, Allah is One.
Hadith 10509
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Abasah Salami (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Who is with you on this religion?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A free man and a slave." At that time, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with them both) were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Amr bin Abasah: "Return to your people until Allah makes His Messenger strong." Sayyiduna Amr bin Abasah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: "I considered myself a quarter of Islam."
Hadith 10510
عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَقْرَأُ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي نَحْوَ الرُّكْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَصْدَعَ بِمَا يُؤْمَرُ وَالْمُشْرِكُونَ يَسْتَمِعُونَ {فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ}
It is narrated from Sayyida Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting (the Qur'an), and he would pray facing the Black Stone, and he had not yet announced that which he had been commanded to announce, and the polytheists would hear this verse: {فَبِاَیِّ آلائِ رَبِّکُمَا تُکَذِّبَانِ}.
