بَابُ ذِكْرِ بَعْضِ أَسْمَائِهِ الشَّرِيفَةِ وَأَنَّهُ أَوَّلُ النَّبِيِّينَ وَآخِرُهُمْ وَأَفْضَلُهُمْ
Chapter: Mention of some of his noble names and that he is the first and last of the prophets and the best of them
Hadith 10462
عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ((إِنَّ لِي أَسْمَاءً أَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ وَأَنَا أَحْمَدُ وَأَنَا الْحَاشِرُ الَّذِي يُحْشَرُ النَّاسُ عَلَى قَدَمَيَّ وَأَنَا الْمَاحِي الَّذِي يُمْحَى بِيَ الْكُفْرُ وَأَنَا الْعَاقِبُ وَالْعَاقِبُ الَّذِي لَيْسَ بَعْدَهُ نَبِيٌّ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Surely, I have some names; I am Muhammad, I am Ahmad, I am Hashir—people will be gathered at my feet, I am Mahi—that is, through me disbelief will be erased, and I am Aqib, and Aqib is the one after whom there is no prophet.
Hadith 10463
عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَمَّى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَفْسَهُ أَسْمَاءً مِنْهَا مَا حَفِظْنَا فَقَالَ ((أَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ وَأَحْمَدُ وَالْمُقَفِّي وَالْحَاشِرُ وَنَبِيُّ الرَّحْمَةِ)) وَقَالَ يَزِيدُ ((وَنَبِيُّ التَّوْبَةِ وَنَبِيُّ الْمَلْحَمَةِ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), who says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) mentioned some of his names to us, some of which we remembered. He (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: I am Muhammad, Ahmad, Muqaffi, Hashir, and the Prophet of Mercy. Yazid, the narrator, said: And I am the Prophet of Repentance and the Prophet of Battle.
Hadith 10464
عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا أَنَا أَمْشِي فِي طَرِيقِ الْمَدِينَةِ إِذَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمْشِي فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ ((أَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ وَأَنَا أَحْمَدُ وَنَبِيُّ الرَّحْمَةِ وَنَبِيُّ التَّوْبَةِ وَالْحَاشِرُ وَالْمُقَفِّي وَنَبِيُّ الْمَلَاحِمِ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was walking on a street in Madinah, and by chance, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was also walking there. I heard him saying: I am Muhammad, I am Ahmad, I am the Prophet of Mercy, the Prophet of Repentance, the Gatherer (Hashir), the Last in succession (Muqaffi), and the Prophet of Battles (Nabi al-Malahim).
