بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي بَعْضِ فَضَائِلِهِ وَأَنَّهُ خَاتَمُ النَّبِيِّينَ لا نَبِي بَعْدَهُ
Chapter: What has been reported regarding some of his virtues and that he is the Seal of the Prophets—no prophet after him
Hadith 10457
عَنِ الْعِرْبَاضِ بْنِ سَارِيَةَ السُّلَمِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنِّي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فِي أُمِّ الْكِتَابِ لَخَاتَمُ النَّبِيِّينَ وَإِنَّ آدَمَ لَمُنْجَدِلٌ فِي طِينَتِهِ وَسَأُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِتَأْوِيلِ ذَلِكَ دَعْوَةِ أَبِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَبَشَارَةِ عِيسَى قَوْمَهُ وَرُؤْيَا أُمِّي الَّتِي رَأَتْ أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ مِنْهَا نُورٌ أَضَاءَتْ لَهُ قُصُورُ الشَّامِ وَكَذَلِكَ تَرَى أُمَّهَاتُ النَّبِيِّينَ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Irbad bin Sariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I am the servant of Allah, who was written as the Seal of the Prophets in Umm al-Kitab at a time when Adam (peace be upon him) was still lying in his clay, and soon I will explain its interpretation to you. I am the answer to the supplication of my father Ibrahim (peace be upon him), the glad tidings of ‘Isa (peace be upon him), and the dream of my mother. My mother saw in a dream that a light emerged from her, which illuminated the palaces of Syria for her, and the mothers of the Prophets used to see similar dreams. May Allah’s mercy be upon them.
Hadith 10458
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ مَيْسَرَةَ الْفَجْرِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَتَى كُنْتَ وَفِي لَفْظٍ جُعِلْتَ نَبِيًّا قَالَ وَآدَمُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ بَيْنَ الرُّوحِ وَالْجَسَدِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Maisarah Fajr (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! When were you made a Prophet?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "I was made a Prophet at a time when Adam (peace be upon him) was still between soul and body."
Hadith 10459
عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي أُمَّتِي كَذَّابُونَ وَدَجَّالُونَ سَبْعَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ مِنْهُمْ أَرْبَعُ نِسْوَةٍ وَإِنِّي خَاتَمُ النَّبِيِّينَ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: There will be twenty-seven liars and impostors in my Ummah, four of whom will be women, while I am the Seal of the Prophets; there will be no prophet after me.
Hadith 10460
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَا سَيِّدُ وَلْدِ آدَمَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَا فَخْرَ وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ تَنْشَقُّ عَنْهُ الْأَرْضُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَا فَخْرَ وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ شَافِعٍ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَا فَخْرَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: On the Day of Resurrection, I will be the leader of the children of Adam, and I do not boast about it. I will be the first person for whom the earth will split open on the Day of Resurrection, and I do not boast about it. And I will be the first intercessor on the Day of Resurrection, and I do not boast about it either.
Hadith 10461
عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ((إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ كُنْتُ إِمَامَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَخَطِيبَهُمْ وَصَاحِبَ شَفَاعَتِهِمْ وَلَا فَخْرَ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the Day of Resurrection comes, I will be the leader and speaker of the Prophets, and I will be the intercessor, while I do not take pride in this.
