Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If it were not for the Children of Israel, meat would not become putrid and food would not spoil, and if it were not for Lady Hawwa (may Allah have mercy on her), no woman would betray her husband.
Hadith 10308
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), this is the lengthy hadith regarding intercession, in which it is mentioned: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, when the time will become prolonged for the people, they will say to one another: Come, let us go to the father of mankind, so that he may intercede for us before Allah Almighty and He may begin our reckoning. So they will come to Adam (peace be upon him) and say: O Adam! You are the one whom Allah Almighty created with His own hand, settled you in Paradise, and made the angels prostrate to you. So intercede for us before Allah Almighty, so that He may begin our reckoning. He will reply: I am not worthy of this intercession; because of my mistake, I was expelled from Paradise. Today, my own soul has made me restless.

Syedna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates: This is a lengthy hadith regarding intercession, in which it is mentioned: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Then Adam, peace be upon him, will say: Indeed, my Lord is so angry today as He has never been before and will never be so after, and He had forbidden me from a tree, but I disobeyed Him. Alas, myself, myself, myself.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! Who was the first prophet among the prophets? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Adam (peace be upon him). I said: O Messenger of Allah! Was Adam (peace be upon him) a prophet? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, he was a prophet, he was spoken to, Allah Almighty created him with His own hand, then breathed His spirit into him and said to him face to face: O Adam.

In another narration: Allah Almighty sent Adam (peace be upon him) down to the earth on this day and on this day he passed away.
