Alqamah says: I asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him): Was there anyone among you with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the night of the jinn? He said: None of us was with him. It happened that one night we found the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) missing. We said: Has he (peace and blessings be upon him) been secretly killed? Has he (peace and blessings be upon him) been taken somewhere? What has happened? We spent the worst night. When it was just before dawn or at the time of suhoor, we suddenly saw him (peace and blessings be upon him) coming from the direction of the Cave of Hira. We said: O Messenger of Allah! Then we told him the whole matter. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The caller of the jinn came to me, so I went to them and recited the Noble Qur’an to them. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) took us and showed us the traces of them and their fire. They were from the jinn of the Arabian Peninsula, and that night they asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about their provision. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every bone with good flesh on which the name of Allah has been mentioned that falls into your hands (that is your provision), and every dung and droppings are fodder for your animals. So do not use these two things for istinja, because these things are the provision of your jinn brothers.
Hadith 10287
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: On the night of the delegation of the jinn, I was walking with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned, he took a deep breath. I said: What has happened to you? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Ibn Mas'ud! News of my soul's death is being given to me.
Hadith 10288
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the night of the jinn, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) drew a line around him, the jinn would come near him like the shade of date palms, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: You must remain in your place. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the Book of Allah to them. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the Zutt people, he said: It is as if these are the same. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked me: Do you have water? I said: No. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you have nabidh? I said: Yes. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution with nabidh.
Hadith 10289
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I spent the night in such a way that at Hajun I recited the Noble Qur’an to a group of jinn.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked me to accompany him, so we set out. When I reached a certain place, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) drew a line for me and said: Sit within this, do not go outside it, otherwise you will be destroyed. So I remained sitting within it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went ahead, about a stone’s throw or a little more. Then, when he (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned those jinn, it seemed as if they were Zutt. One narrator says: If Allah wills, my statement about them will be correct that they were not wearing clothes, but their private parts were not visible either. They were tall and lean. Then they began to mount upon him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept reciting the Noble Qur’an to them. Those jinn also came to me, put various thoughts in my heart, and appeared before me. I became very frightened of them, so I sat down. When the light of dawn began to break, they started to leave. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) returned, very tired and in distress, or it could be said that he was about to become distressed. All this was because of their mounting upon him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I find myself exhausted. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his blessed head in my lap. Then some people came, wearing white clothes and were tall, while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had fallen asleep. I became even more anxious than before. Some of them said to others: This servant, meaning the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), has been granted goodness; his eyes sleep but his heart remains awake. Come, let us present a parable for him and then interpret it, or some of them said: We will present the parable and you will interpret it. Then some said to others: His example is like that of a chief who built a fortress and then invited people to eat. Whoever did not come to eat or did not obey him, he punished him severely. Others interpreted it, saying: The chief means the Lord of the worlds, the fortress means Islam, the food means Paradise, and the inviter is the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself. Whoever followed him will be in Paradise, and whoever did not obey him will be punished. Meanwhile, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up and asked: O Ibn Umm Abd, what did you see? Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw all this. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Nothing of what they said is hidden from me; they were a group of angels.

It is narrated from Safwan bin Muattal, he says: We set out for the performance of Hajj, when we were at the place of ‘Arj, we saw a snake trembling and then soon it died. A man took out a rag from his bag, wrapped the snake in it, dug a pit in the ground, and buried it. When we reached Makkah Mukarramah and were sitting in Masjid al-Haram, a man stood near us and said: Who among you is the companion of ‘Amr bin Jabir? We said: We do not know him. He said: Who among you is the one with the jinn? The people said: This is he. He said: May Allah reward you with goodness, this jinn was the last of the nine jinns who had come to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to listen to the Noble Qur’an.
