Hadith 10187
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Verily, Allah Almighty wrote a book with His own hand for Himself before the creation of the heavens and the earth, and placed it beneath His Throne. In it is written: My mercy has prevailed over My wrath.
Hadith 10188
(Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When Allah Almighty finished with the creation, He wrote upon His Throne: My mercy has preceded My wrath.
Hadith 10189
(Third chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When Allah Almighty completed the matter of His creation, He wrote in His Book: Surely, My mercy has prevailed over My wrath; that Book is with Him above the Throne.
Hadith 10190
(Fourth chain) The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: When Allah Almighty created the creation, He wrote upon Himself with His own hand: Surely, My mercy has prevailed over My wrath.
Hadith 10191
Hasan Basri says: It has reached me that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Allah Almighty has one hundred mercies. He has distributed one mercy among the people of the earth, and it will remain with them until their deaths, and He has reserved ninety-nine mercies for His friends. And the mercy that Allah Almighty has distributed among the people of the earth, on the Day of Resurrection, He will take it back and combine it with the ninety-nine, thus completing one hundred. Muhammad bin Sirin and Khallas have narrated this hadith as marfu’ from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him.
Hadith 10192
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jundub Bajli (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin came, made his camel sit down, tied its knee, and then performed prayer behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, the Bedouin came to his mount, untied its rope, mounted it, and said: O Allah! Have mercy on me and Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and do not include anyone else in Your mercy. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), upon hearing this supplication, said: Would you say that he is more misguided or his camel? Did you people not hear what he said? The people said: Yes, indeed, we heard it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You have made it too narrow; Allah’s mercy is vast. Indeed, Allah has created one hundred mercies; out of them, He has sent down one mercy, and because of it, all creatures—including jinn, humans, and animals—show love to one another. Ninety-nine mercies are reserved with Him. Now, would you say that he himself is more misguided or his camel?
Hadith 10193
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has one hundred mercies. Out of these, He has sent down one mercy among humans, jinn, and insects; because of it, they love one another and show mercy to each other. Even wild animals are kind to their young because of it. And Allah has deferred ninety-nine mercies until the Day of Resurrection; with them, He will show mercy to His servants.
Hadith 10194
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Indeed, Allah Almighty has created one hundred mercies. The effect of one mercy is that the creatures love one another; wild animals show affection to their offspring because of this mercy, and He has deferred ninety-nine mercies until the Day of Resurrection.
Hadith 10195
Syedna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: If a believer were to know of Allah Almighty’s punishment, no one would hope for Paradise, and if a disbeliever were to know of Allah Almighty’s mercy, no one would despair of Paradise. Allah Almighty has created a total of one hundred mercies; out of these, He has sent down one mercy among His creation, and because of it, they are merciful to one another, and ninety-nine mercies remain with Allah Almighty.
