Hadith 10140
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا ضَرَبَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَجْتَنِبِ الْوَجْهَ وَلَا تَقُلْ قَبَّحَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَكَ وَوَجْهَ مَنْ أَشْبَهَ وَجْهَكَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى خَلَقَ آدَمَ عَلَى صُورَتِهِ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person punishes someone, he should avoid striking the face, and he should not say, "May Allah distance your face and the face of the one who resembles you from goodness," for indeed Allah the Exalted created Adam (peace be upon him) in his image.
Hadith 10141
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْوَسْمِ فِي الْوَجْهِ وَالضَّرْبِ فِي الْوَجْهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade us from branding on the face and from striking on the face.
Hadith 10142
وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِحِمَارٍ قَدْ وُسِمَ فِي وَجْهِهِ يُدَخِّنُ مَنْخَرَاهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ((مَنْ فَعَلَ هَذَا)) زَادَ فِي رِوَايَةٍ ((لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي وَسَمَهُ)) ((لَا يَسِمَنَّ أَحَدٌ الْوَجْهَ وَلَا يَضْرِبَنَّ أَحَدٌ الْوَجْهَ))
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) also narrates that a donkey was brought past the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), which had been branded on its face and smoke was coming out of its nostrils. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Who has done this? May Allah curse the one who has branded it. No person should brand on the face nor strike on the face.
Hadith 10143
- عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تُضْرَبَ الصُّوَرُ يَعْنِي الْوَجْهَ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade striking on the faces.
Hadith 10144
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَكْرَهُ الْعَلَمَ فِي الصُّوَرِ وَقَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ضَرْبِ الْوَجْهِ
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he disliked marking faces and used to say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade striking on the face.
Hadith 10145
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ((إِذَا قَاتَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ فَلْيَجْتَنِبِ الْوَجْهَ))
Syedna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a man fights with his brother, he should avoid striking the face.
Hadith 10146
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلُهُ
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) also narrated a similar hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 10147
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ كَسَعَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ يَا لَلْأَنْصَارِ وَقَالَ الْمُهَاجِرِيُّ يَا لَلْمُهَاجِرِينَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ((أَلَا مَا بَالُ دَعْوَى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ دَعُوا الْكَسْعَةَ فَإِنَّهَا مُنْتِنَةٌ))
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a Muhajir man struck an Ansari man on his back with his hand or foot (and because of this a fight broke out). The Ansari called out: "O Ansar!" The Muhajir called out: "O Muhajir!" Upon hearing this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Beware! What is the reason for calling out with the call of ignorance? Leave such mischiefs; they are blameworthy.
Hadith 10148
عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِيكَرِبَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْهَى عَنْ لَطْمِ خُدُودِ الدَّوَابِّ وَقَالَ ((إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ عَصِيًّا وَسِيَاطًا))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Miqdam bin Ma'dikarib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade striking animals on their faces and said: Indeed, Allah Almighty has made sticks and whips for your use.
