It is narrated from Abu Hassan that when Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) would give an order and, after its completion, it was said to him that such and such task had been accomplished, he would say: "Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth." Ashtar said to him: "This statement of yours has become well-known among the people. Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) give you any special advice regarding this?" Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not give me any special advice that he did not give to other people, except for what I heard from him and which is in the scroll present in the sheath of my sword." Upon hearing this, the people began to insist, until he took out the scroll. In it was written: "Whoever invents a bid'ah (innovation), or gives shelter to an innovator, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people, and neither his obligatory nor his voluntary worship will be accepted." In it was also this hadith: "Indeed, Ibrahim (peace be upon him) declared Makkah to be sacred..."

It is narrated from Abu Tufail, he says: We said to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): Tell us about something which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) granted only to you. He said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not tell me any secret which he concealed from the people, except that I heard him say: May Allah curse the one who sacrifices for other than Allah; may Allah curse the one who gives shelter to an innovator; may Allah curse the one who curses his parents; and may Allah curse the one who changes the landmarks of the earth.

My husband Walid beats me, thus she complained about her husband. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Tell him that the Messenger of Allah has given me protection. After staying for a few days, she came again and said: He has only increased in beating me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took the edge of his garment, gave it to her, and said: Tell him that the Messenger of Allah has given me protection. After a short while, she came again and said: He has only increased in beating me. Upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised both his hands and said: O Allah! Seize Walid, he has become sinful twice because of me.

The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: See, who are these? The people said: These are so-and-so and so-and-so. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Allah! Make the hair of their heads fall out and reject them into Hell.
