It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Which places are the worst? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: I do not know. Then Sayyiduna Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: O Jibreel! Which places are the worst? He said: By myself, I do not know, but I will ask my Lord. Then he left and remained away as long as Allah willed, then he returned and said: O Muhammad! You had asked me which places are the worst, and I had replied that I do not know. Then I asked my Lord which places are the worst, and Allah Almighty said: The marketplaces.

Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) covered himself with his cloak, while he was on his mount.
