Hadith 10080
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a dead goat which its owners had thrown away, and said: "By Him in Whose hand is my soul! The value that this goat has in the sight of its owners, the world has even less value than that in the sight of Allah Almighty."
Hadith 10081
Syedna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a mangy lamb that had been cast out by its owners. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What do you think about this lamb—would it be considered insignificant by its owners? The people replied: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The world is even more insignificant in the sight of Allah than this lamb is to its owners.
Hadith 10082
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the upper area and passed by a dead baby goat with small ears. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of the kid and lifted it up, then said: "For how much would you like to buy this?" The people said: "We would not like to give anything for it. What would we do with it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again said: "For how much would you like to buy it?" The people said: "By Allah, even if it were alive, it would be considered defective because its ears are small, and now it is dead altogether." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah, the world is even more insignificant in the sight of Allah than this."
Hadith 10083
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mustawrid bin Shaddad (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Allah! The world, in comparison to the Hereafter, is like a man dipping his finger into the river and then taking it out and seeing how much water it returns with. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed towards the index finger next to the thumb. Sayyiduna Mustawrid (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I bear witness that I was with that caravan which was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by the place of a people who had already moved on from there, and there was a kid (young goat) lying there, which those people had thrown away. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked about it: Do you think that its owners left it only because they considered it insignificant? The people said: Yes, due to its lack of importance, they threw it away. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Allah, the world is even more insignificant in the sight of Allah Almighty than this.
Hadith 10084
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Duhak bin Sufyan Kilabi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Duhak! What is your food?" He replied: "O Messenger of Allah! Milk and meat." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) then asked: "In the end, what does it become when it leaves the body?" He replied: "You know best, O Messenger." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has set forth as an example for the world that which comes out from the son of Adam."
Hadith 10085
Narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: The food of the son of Adam has been presented as an example for the world; even if the food is spiced and salted, see what it ultimately becomes.
