Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you know what backbiting is? The companions said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is mentioning about your brother something which he dislikes, which is actually present in him. A man asked: What if what I say about my brother is actually found in him? He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: If what you say is present in him, then you have backbitten him, and if those faults are not in him, then you have slandered him.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his voice so much that even the young women heard it. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O group of people who have believed with their tongues but faith has not yet entered their hearts, do not backbite the Muslims and do not seek out their hidden matters. Whoever searches for their faults, Allah Almighty will search for his faults, and whoever Allah Almighty searches for his faults, He will disgrace him in his own house.

(Second chain) It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: I began to imitate a man in front of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I do not like to imitate anyone, even if I were to be given a great deal in exchange for it. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Indeed, Safiyyah is a woman of short stature. Upon hearing this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You have said such a thing that if it were mixed with the water of the sea, it would mix with it (i.e., the filth of the statement would overpower and spoil the water of the sea).

Mawla-e-Rasool Sayyiduna Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that two women were fasting. A man said: O Messenger of Allah! There are two women here, they are fasting and it seems that they are dying of thirst. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned away from him or remained silent. He repeated his statement and also mentioned the time of noon and said: By Allah! They are about to die. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Call them both. When they both came, a large bowl was also brought. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to one of the women: Vomit. So she vomited pus or blood, pus mixed with blood, and an amount of meat filling half the bowl. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the second woman: Now you vomit. She vomited pus, blood, pus mixed with blood, and so much raw fresh meat that the bowl was filled. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: These two women have abstained from that food and drink which Allah Almighty has made lawful, but they are breaking their fast with that which Allah Almighty has made unlawful. They were sitting together eating the flesh of people.

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever’s intercession becomes a barrier to any limit set by Allah, he has opposed the command of Allah. Whoever dies in debt should remember that on the Day of Resurrection there will be no abundance of dirhams and dinars; rather, there will be exchange of good and bad deeds. Whoever knowingly argues in favor of falsehood will remain under the wrath and anger of Allah until he desists. Whoever accuses a believer of a crime that is not found in him will be detained in Radhghatul-Khabal (the pus of the people of Hell) until he withdraws from what he has said.
