Hadith 9851
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him), who says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying. Imam Sha’bi says: Whenever I heard him say that he heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I would lend my ear and draw near, fearing that I might not hear these words from anyone else, that he would say he heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, but between them are doubtful matters. Whoever leaves the doubtful thing to avoid sin, he will be more likely to leave the clearly sinful thing, and whoever dares to engage in the doubtful thing, it is likely that he will fall into the unlawful. Indeed, every king has a forbidden sanctuary, and in the land, the forbidden sanctuary of Allah Almighty is His disobedience or the things He has declared unlawful.
Hadith 9852
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man passed by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while his wife was standing with him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called out to that man: "O so-and-so," in fact, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted to inform him that this woman was his wife. The man replied: "O Messenger of Allah! Do you have any suspicion about me?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, I feared that Satan might enter into you (and create some evil thought)."
Hadith 9853
(Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was standing with one of his wives when a man passed by. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: O so-and-so! This is my wife. He said: O Messenger of Allah! I could have suspicion about anyone, but I could never have any ill thought about you. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Indeed, Satan circulates in the son of Adam like blood.
Hadith 9854
It is narrated from the wife of the Messenger, Sayyida Safiyyah bint Huyayy (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was in a state of i'tikaf. I came at night to visit him (peace and blessings be upon him), so I spoke with him, and when I got up to leave, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) also stood up to escort me back. My house was near the house of Sayyiduna Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him). Two Ansaris passed by us, and when they saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), they hurried to pass by quickly, but he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: "Wait, wait, this is Safiyyah bint Huyayy (who is my wife)." They said: "Glory be to Allah! O Messenger of Allah! (How could we think otherwise?)" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Satan circulates within the son of Adam like blood, and I feared that he might cast some evil thought into your hearts."
