Hadith 9841
The warning about considering minor sins insignificant: They gather upon a person to such an extent that they destroy him. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave an example of these sins, saying that their example is like a people who camped in a desert, and when it was time for their meal, one man went and brought a stick, another brought a stick, until enough sticks were gathered for their needs. Then they lit a fire and cooked whatever they had to cook.
Hadith 9842
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Avoid minor sins. (And do not consider them insignificant, reflect that) some people camp in a valley, one person brings a stick, and another brings one... (one by one, so many sticks are gathered that) they light a fire and cook bread and other things. In the same way, if one is held accountable for minor sins, they too can destroy.
Hadith 9843
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: Refrain from committing minor sins, for there will be an angel from Allah Almighty who will question about them.
Hadith 9844
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Indeed, you are performing such deeds which, in your view, are finer than a hair (i.e., you consider them extremely insignificant), whereas in the blessed era of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we used to count them among the destructive matters.
Hadith 9845
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Indeed, you people do such and such deeds, ... . Then words similar to the previous statement were narrated.
Hadith 9846
It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Ubada bin Qirt (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Indeed, today you people commit such and such actions that … … . Then he mentioned it in the same way as the previous statement.
