Hadith 9800
Narrated by Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you see that a man is being given sustenance in this world despite his evildoings, then (understand that) he is being given respite by Allah Almighty, as mentioned in this verse: "But when they forgot that whereof they had been reminded, We opened unto them the gates of all things till, even as they were rejoicing in that which they were given, We seized them suddenly, and lo! they were dumbfounded." (Surah Al-An'am: 44).
Hadith 9801
Ibn Hisbah or Abu Hisbah narrates from a companion who was present at the time of the address of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Do you know who the su‘look (poor and destitute) is? The people said: The one who has no wealth. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: He is completely a su‘look, he is entirely a su‘look, only he is a su‘look who, despite being wealthy, dies in such a state that he has not sent any wealth ahead.
Hadith 9802
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Haritha bin Nu’man (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among you, a man keeps grazing livestock and attends the congregational prayer, then his livestock create difficulty for him and he says: If I find a place with more grass for my livestock, so he leaves from there and, due to being far away, attends only the Friday prayer. But even at that place, his livestock cause him hardship, then he says: If I find a place with even more grass than this, so he moves from there as well and becomes so distant that he neither comes for the Friday prayer nor attends the congregation. In such a situation, a seal is set upon his heart.
Hadith 9803
A companion of the Messenger narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: It is possible that the most despicable of despicable people may gain dominance over the world, and at that time, the best among the people will be the believer who is between two noble ones.
Hadith 9804
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Musa (peace be upon him) said: O my Lord! That certain servant of Yours is a disbeliever, yet You are granting him abundance in this world. At that moment, a door from Hell was opened and it was said: O Musa! This is the abode which I have prepared for him. Musa (peace be upon him) said: O my Lord! By Your honor and by Your majesty! If, from the time You created this servant until the Day of Judgment, the entire world were given to him, and then his abode is this, it is as if that servant has never seen any good.
Hadith 9805
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The wealthy have perished. The people asked: But who? He (peace and blessings be upon him) again said: The wealthy have perished. The people asked: But who? He (peace and blessings be upon him) again said: The wealthy have perished. The people asked: But who? Eventually, we became afraid, as if it seemed that this matter had become obligatory. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Except the one who did like this, and like this, and like this, while those who do so are few.
Hadith 9806
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Those who possess much wealth will be the most humiliated (or according to another narration) will have the least deeds, except for the one who does like this, like this, and like this. Someone asked: Who are they? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: The complete narrator gestured with his hand that he distributes wealth to his right, to his left, and in front of him.
Hadith 9807
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) also narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I do not fear poverty for you, rather I fear the desire for abundance; and I do not fear that you will make mistakes unintentionally, rather I fear that you will knowingly disobey.
Hadith 9808
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not be eager to acquire estates, otherwise you will become inclined towards the world. Then Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Barazan, what is Barazan? Madinah, what is Madinah?
Hadith 9809
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade us from abundance in family and wealth. Abu Hamza, who was sitting with him, said: Yes, and Akhram Tai from his father, he narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), and he narrated from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), then Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) himself said: What will become of the people of Barazan and the people of Madinah! Imam Shuba said: I asked Abu Tiyah: What is meant by tabaqqur? He said: Abundance.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him), an ally of Banu Amir bin Lu'ayy and a participant in the Battle of Badr, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah to Bahrain to collect jizya. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had made a treaty with the people of Bahrain and had appointed Sayyiduna Alaa bin Hadrami (may Allah be pleased with him) as their leader. When Sayyiduna Abu Ubaidah (may Allah be pleased with him) returned from Bahrain with the wealth and the Ansar learned of his arrival, they came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at the time of the Fajr prayer. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, the Ansar followed him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled when he saw them and said: "I think you have heard that Abu Ubaidah has returned with something?" They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Rejoice and hope for that which will make you happy. By Allah, I do not fear poverty for you, but I fear that the world will be opened up for you as it was for those before you, and then you will compete in it as they competed, and it will distract you as it distracted them."
