بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي التَرْهِيبِ مِنَ التَّجَمْسِ وَسُوءِ الظَّنِّ
Chapter on what has been narrated regarding warning against spying and having bad suspicion
Hadith 9794
عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تُؤْذُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ وَلَا تُعَيِّرُوهُمْ وَلَا تَطْلُبُوا عَوْرَاتِهِمْ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ طَلَبَ عَوْرَةَ أَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِمِ طَلَبَ اللَّهُ عَوْرَتَهُ حَتَّى يَفْضَحَهُ فِي بَيْتِهِ
It is narrated from Mawla-e-Rasool Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Do not trouble the servants of Allah, nor disgrace them, nor seek out their faults, for whoever seeks out the fault of his brother, Allah Almighty will pursue his faults until He humiliates him within his own house.
Hadith 9795
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا (وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ امْرَأً) اطَّلَعَ بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِكَ فَخَذَفْتَهُ بِحَصَاةٍ فَفَقَأْتَ عَيْنَهُ مَا كَانَ عَلَيْكَ جُنَاحٌ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a man looks at you without your permission and you throw a pebble at him and put out his eye, there will be no sin upon you.
Hadith 9796
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنِ اطَّلَعَ فِي بَيْتِ قَوْمٍ بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِهِمْ فَفَقَأُوا عَيْنَهُ فَلَا دِيَةَ لَهُ وَلَا قِصَاصَ
(Second chain) The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: If a person peeps into someone’s house without their permission and they put out his eye, then there will be neither blood money nor retaliation for him.
Hadith 9797
عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَاطَّلَعَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ فَأَهْوَى إِلَيْهِ بِمِشْقَصٍ مَعَهُ فَتَأَخَّرَ الرَّجُلُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting in his house when a man began to peep towards him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) picked up a small stick and leaned towards him, but the man moved back.
Hadith 9798
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالظَّنَّ فَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ أَكْذَبُ الْحَدِيثِ وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوا وَلَا تَحَسَّسُوا وَلَا تَبَاغَضُوا وَلَا تَدَابَرُوا وَلَا تَنَافَسُوا وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِخْوَانًا
Syedna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Beware of suspicion, for indeed suspicion is the most false of speech. Do not spy, do not pry, do not harbor enmity among yourselves, avoid mutual severance and hostility, do not compete with one another, and O servants of Allah! Become brothers to one another.
Hadith 9799
وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ حُسْنَ الظَّنِّ مِنْ حُسْنِ الْعِبَادَةِ
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, having good expectations is part of excellent worship.
