Hadith 9777
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zubair bin Al-Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The disease of previous nations has also crept into you, that is, envy and malice. This disease shaves off the religion, not the head. By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! You will not be believers until you love one another. Shall I not tell you something which, if you act upon it, you will begin to love one another? Spread salam (greetings of peace) among yourselves.
Hadith 9778
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not envy one another, do not artificially inflate prices to deceive one another, do not harbor hatred towards one another, and avoid mutual severance of relations and enmity.

Narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Now a man from among the people of Paradise is about to come to you. Then an Ansari man came, water was dripping from his beard due to ablution, and he was carrying his shoes in his left hand. The next day, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said the same thing again, and the same man came in the same condition as before. When it was the third day, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) again said the same thing: A man from among the people of Paradise is about to come to you. And (by Allah’s will) the same man came in his previous state. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) followed that man and said to him: I have had a dispute with my father, and I have sworn not to go to him for three days. If you give me a place to stay with you until this period is over, what do you think about it? He said: Yes, come in. Then Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that he spent three nights with that man. He did not stand in prayer at night at all, but whenever he woke up and turned on his bed, he would remember Allah Almighty and recite takbirs, until he got up for the Fajr prayer. Besides this, his quality was that he only spoke good and virtuous words. When three nights had passed and I was about to consider his deeds insignificant, I said to him: O servant of Allah! There was no anger or severance between me and my father. The reason for my stay with you is that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say three times: Now a man from among the people of Paradise is about to come to you. And three times, it was you who came. So I intended to stay in your house to observe your deeds and then follow your example, but I saw that you do not do much in terms of deeds. Now tell me, what is that quality in you because of which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned this hadith (and you became its subject)? He said: My deeds are only what you have seen. Then, when I was about to leave, he called me back and said: My deeds are only what you have seen, but this is certain: there is no deceit in my heart against any Muslim, and for any good that Allah Almighty has given to any Muslim, I do not envy him for it. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: This is the very thing that has brought you to this rank, and this is the deed for which we do not have the strength.
