Hadith 9651
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ حَدَّثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نِسَاءَهُ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ حَدِيثًا فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْهُنَّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَأَنَّ الْحَدِيثَ حَدِيثُ خُرَافَةَ فَقَالَ ((أَتَدْرُونَ مَا خُرَافَةُ إِنَّ خُرَافَةَ كَانَ رَجُلًا مِنْ عُذْرَةَ أَسَرَتْهُ الْجِنُّ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَمَكَثَ فِيهِنَّ طَوِيلًا ثُمَّ رَدُّوهُ إِلَى الْإِنْسِ فَكَانَ يُحَدِّثُ النَّاسَ بِمَا رَأَى فِيهِمْ مِنْ أَعَاجِيبَ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ حَدِيثُ خُرَافَةَ))
Narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) told his wives something one night. One of the Mothers of the Believers said: O Messenger of Allah! It seems that this is a tale of Khurafa. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you know what Khurafa is? Khurafa was a man from the tribe of Udhra. The jinn had captured him during the time of ignorance. He remained among the jinn for a long time, then they released him among the people. He used to narrate strange things about the jinn to the people, and people called it the tale of Khurafa.
Hadith 9652
عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ((إِنَّ مِمَّا أَدْرَكَ النَّاسُ مِنْ كَلَامِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ الْأُولَى إِذَا لَمْ تَسْتَحْيِ فَاصْنَعْ مَا شِئْتَ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the sayings found among the people in the earlier days of ignorance was this: "When you feel no shame, then do whatever you wish."
Hadith 9653
عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ((الْمَعْرُوفُ كُلُّهُ صَدَقَةٌ وَإِنَّ آخِرَ مَا تَعَلَّقَ بِهِ أَهْلُ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ مِنْ كَلَامِ النُّبُوَّةِ إِذَا لَمْ تَسْتَحْيِ فَافْعَلْ مَا شِئْتَ))
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every good deed is charity, and the last thing that the people of ignorance have taken from the words of Prophethood is this: When you have no shame, do whatever you wish.
Hadith 9654
عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ((كُلُّ شَيْءٍ يَنْقُصُ إِلَّا الشَّرَّ فَإِنَّهُ يُزَادُ فِيهِ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Everything is decreasing, except evil; it is increasing.
Hadith 9655
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا اسْتَرَاثَ الْخَبَرَ تَمَثَّلَ فِيهِ بِبَيْتِ طَرَفَةَ ((وَيَأْتِيكَ بِالْأَخْبَارِ مَنْ لَمْ تُزَوِّدْ))
Narrated by Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she states that when news was delayed, you would recite this verse of Tarafah (bin Abd Bakri), the poet: "The one on whom you have spent nothing will bring the news."
Hadith 9656
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ((لَا يُلْدَغُ الْمُؤْمِنُ مِنْ جُحْرٍ وَاحِدٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ))
Syedna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A believer is not bitten from the same hole twice.
Hadith 9657
عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ((حُبُّكَ الشَّيْءَ يُعْمِي وَيُصِمُّ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Your love for something makes you blind and deaf.
Hadith 9658
عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ لِأَبِي مَسْعُودٍ أَوْ قَالَ أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي حُذَيْفَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا مَا سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي زَعَمُوا قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ ((بِئْسَ مَطِيَّةُ الرَّجُلِ))
Abu Qalabah says: Sayyiduna Abu Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him), or Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Abu Abdullah Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him): What did you hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say regarding “Za’amu”? He said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Za’amu is a bad mount for a man,” (i.e., it is a bad manner of speech).
Hadith 9659
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ((لَيْسَ الْخَبَرُ كَالْمُعَايَنَةِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَخْبَرَ مُوسَى بِمَا صَنَعَ قَوْمُهُ فِي الْعِجْلِ فَلَمْ يَلْقَ الْأَلْوَاحَ فَلَمَّا عَايَنَ مَا صَنَعُوا أَلْقَى الْأَلْوَاحَ فَانْكَسَرَتْ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Information is not like witnessing. When Allah Almighty informed Musa (peace be upon him) that his people had done such and such with the calf, he did not throw down the tablets. But when he saw what his people had done, then he cast down the tablets and they broke."
