Hadith 9611
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Four things are the practices of the Messengers: applying perfume, marrying, using the miswak, and having modesty.
Hadith 9612
It is narrated from Sayyida Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) would not abandon four things: the fast of Ashura, the fasts of the ten days, the fasts of three days from every month, and the two Sunnah (units) before Fajr.
Hadith 9613
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: There are four virtues; if you possess them, you should not grieve over anything lost from the world: safeguarding trust, speaking the truth, good character, and chastity in food (i.e., earning lawful sustenance sufficient for your needs).
Hadith 9614
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Kabsha Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The world is only for four types of people: (1) A man whom Allah Almighty has granted wealth and knowledge, and he fears Allah regarding them, maintains family ties, and recognizes the right of Allah related to them—this person is of the highest rank; (2) A man whom Allah Almighty has given knowledge but not wealth, so he sincerely wishes and says: If I had wealth, I would do righteous deeds like so-and-so—these two have equal reward; (3) A man whom Allah Almighty has given wealth but not knowledge, so he spends his wealth recklessly and thoughtlessly, and neither fears Allah regarding it, nor maintains family ties, nor recognizes the right of Allah related to it—this person is of the lowest rank; and (4) A man whom Allah Almighty has given neither wealth nor knowledge, but seeing the character of that lowly person, he says: If I had wealth, I would do deeds like so-and-so—this is his intention.
Hadith 9615
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Verily, Allah Almighty has chosen these four words from speech: Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah, and Allahu Akbar. So whoever says Subhan Allah, Allah writes twenty good deeds for him or erases twenty bad deeds; whoever says Allahu Akbar will have the same reward; whoever says La ilaha illallah will have the same reward; and whoever says from himself Alhamdulillahi Rabbil 'Alamin, thirty good deeds will be written for him and thirty bad deeds will be erased.
Hadith 9616
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took my hand and said: O Abu Sa'id! There are three words, whoever utters them will enter Paradise. I said: O Messenger of Allah! What are they? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever is pleased with Allah as his Lord, with Islam as his religion, and with Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as his Messenger. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Abu Sa'id! There is also a fourth thing, whose virtue is as great as from the sky to the earth, and that is striving in the path of Allah.
Hadith 9617
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the delegation of ‘Abd al-Qais came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), they said: “We belong to the tribe of Rabi’ah. Between you and us are the disbelievers of the tribe of Mudar, so we can only come to you during the sacred months. Therefore, give us a (comprehensive) command, so that if we act upon it, we will enter Paradise, and we may also invite our people who are behind us to it.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “I command you with four things and forbid you from four things: Worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him—this is not one of the four things—and establish prayer, pay zakat, fast in Ramadan, and give one-fifth of the spoils of war. And I forbid you from gourds, wooden vessels, tar-coated vessels, and green-colored jars.” They said: “What do you know about naqir?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “A vessel is made by hollowing out the trunk, then people put dates of shahriz or common dates and water in it. When it ferments and becomes still, then you drink from it (and intoxication occurs to the extent that one of you kills his cousin with a sword). Among those people was a man who had been wounded for this very reason, and out of shyness before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he began to hide it. They said: ‘Then in which vessels do you command us to drink?’ The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘In those water skins whose mouths are tied.’ They said: ‘There are many rats in our area, so no leather water skin survives.’ The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Even if the rats eat them.’ The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this two or three times. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to one of the individuals of ‘Abd al-Qais, Sayyiduna Ashajj (Munzir bin ‘A’id) (may Allah be pleased with him): ‘You have two qualities which Allah loves: intelligence and forbearance, and dignity and composure, and not being hasty.’
Hadith 9618
Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A Muslim has four rights over another Muslim: when he invites him, he should accept his invitation; when he sneezes, he should say to him “Yarhamukallah” (may Allah have mercy on you); when he falls ill, he should visit him; and when he passes away, he should attend his funeral prayer.
