Hadith 9548
It is narrated from Hasan Basri, he says: An elder companion from Banu Salit says: I went to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, to speak about one of my captives who had been captured during the time of ignorance. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was sitting and people were sitting around him in a circle, and he, peace and blessings be upon him, was talking to the people. He, peace and blessings be upon him, was wearing a thick cotton sheet. The first thing I heard from him, peace and blessings be upon him, was that he, peace and blessings be upon him, pointed with his two fingers and said: A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim; he does not oppress him nor does he leave him helpless. Taqwa is here, taqwa is here, that is, in the heart.
