بَابُ التَّرْغِيبِ فِيهِ وَمَا جَاءَ فِي فَضْلِهِ وَتَوَابٍ فَاعِلِهِ
Chapter on encouragement for it, what has been narrated regarding its virtue, and the reward for the doer
Hadith 9524
عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَتَى رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَرْمِي الْجَمْرَةَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الْجِهَادِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ فَسَكَتَ عَنْهُ حَتَّى إِذَا رَمَى الثَّانِيَةَ عَرَضَ لَهُ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الْجِهَادِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ فَسَكَتَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ مَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى إِذَا اعْتَرَضَ فِي الْجَمْرَةِ الثَّالِثَةِ عَرَضَ لَهُ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الْجِهَادِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ كَلِمَةُ حَقٍّ تُقَالُ لِإِمَامٍ جَائِرٍ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ فِي حَدِيثِهِ وَكَانَ الْحَسَنُ يَقُولُ لِإِمَامٍ ظَالِمٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was throwing pebbles at the Jamrah. He said: O Messenger of Allah! Which jihad is most beloved to Allah Almighty? In response, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) threw pebbles at the second Jamrah, the man again pursued him and said: O Messenger of Allah! Which jihad is most beloved to Allah Almighty? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent this time as well, and when he moved on and reached the third Jamrah, the same man came before him and said: O Messenger of Allah! Which jihad is most beloved to Allah Almighty? This time the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Speaking the word of truth before a tyrant ruler.
Hadith 9525
عَنْ طَارِقٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَيُّ الْجِهَادِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ كَلِمَةُ حَقٍّ عِنْدَ إِمَامٍ (وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ سُلْطَانٍ) جَائِرٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Tariq (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked: Which jihad is the most virtuous? He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: Speaking the word of truth before a tyrant ruler.
Hadith 9526
عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ مِنْ أُمَّتِي قَوْمًا يُعْطَوْنَ مِثْلَ أُجُورِ أَوَّلِهِمْ يُنْكِرُونَ الْمُنْكَرَ
A companion narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There will be some people in my Ummah who will be given a reward like that of the earlier people; they will forbid evil.
