Hadith 9503
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا كُنْتُمْ ثَلَاثَةً فَلَا يَتَنَاجَى اثْنَانِ دُونَ صَاحِبِهِمَا فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ يُحْزِنُهُ (وَفِي لَفْظٍ) لَا يَتَسَارَّ اثْنَانِ دُونَ الثَّالِثِ إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُمْ غَيْرُهُمْ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you are three people, then two of you should not whisper to each other leaving the third companion, because this will distress him. In another narration it is stated: Two people should not converse secretly leaving the third, when there is no one else with them.
Hadith 9504
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَتَنَاجَى اثْنَانِ دُونَ الثَّالِثِ إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُمْ غَيْرُهُمْ قَالَ وَنَهَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُخَالِفَ الرَّجُلُ الرَّجُلَ فِي مَجْلِسِهِ وَقَالَ إِذَا رَجَعَ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that two people should engage in a whispering conversation leaving out a third, when there is no one else with them. Also, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade sitting in the place of a person who has temporarily left a gathering. Regarding this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When such a person returns, he is more entitled to that place.
Hadith 9505
وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا كُنْتُمْ ثَلَاثَةً فَلَا يَتَنَاجَى اثْنَانِ دُونَ صَاحِبِهِمَا قَالَ قُلْنَا فَإِنْ كَانُوا أَرْبَعًا قَالَ فَلَا يَضُرُّ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you are three people, then two of you should not whisper to each other leaving the third one out. Abu Salih, the narrator, said: What if there are four people? He (Ibn Umar) said: Then this does not cause any harm (i.e., then there is no problem).
Hadith 9506
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ حَدَّثَ فِي مَجْلِسٍ بِحَدِيثٍ ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ فَهِيَ أَمَانَةٌ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a servant says something in a gathering and then turns here and there, then that statement will be an amanah (trust).
Hadith 9507
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person leaves his seat in a gathering and then returns, he is more entitled to that place.
Hadith 9508
عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ حُذَيْفَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ فَرَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ حَاجَةٌ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهَا ثُمَّ رَجَعَ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ
Sayyiduna Wahb bin Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person leaves his seat in a gathering and then returns, he is more entitled to it. If such a person leaves the gathering due to some necessity and then comes back, he is more entitled to sit in that place.
Hadith 9509
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ (وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ وَهُمْ حِلَقٌ) فَقَالَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ عِزِينَ وَهُمْ قُعُودٌ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to his companions. In one narration, it is mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the mosque and they were sitting in circles. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: What is the reason that I see you in the form of different groups, while they were sitting?
Hadith 9510
عَنْ أَبِي مِجْلَزٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فِي الَّذِي يَقْعُدُ فِي وَسَطِ الْحَلْقَةِ قَالَ مَلْعُونٌ عَلَى لِسَانِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ لِسَانِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) says about the person who sits in the middle of a circle: According to the words of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), such a person is cursed.
Hadith 9511
عَنْ حَرْمَلَةَ الْعَنْبَرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَوْصِنِي قَالَ اتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَإِذَا كُنْتَ فِي مَجْلِسٍ فَقُمْتَ مِنْهُ فَسَمِعْتَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا يُعْجِبُكَ فَأْتِهِ وَإِذَا سَمِعْتَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا تَكْرَهُ فَاتْرُكْهُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Harmalah Anbari (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Advise me. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Fear Allah, and when you are sitting in a gathering and are about to leave it, but if you hear them saying things that please you, then remain seated with them, and when you hear them saying things that you dislike, then leave that gathering.
Hadith 9512
عَنِ الشَّرِيدِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ مَرَّ بِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا جَالِسٌ هَكَذَا وَقَدْ وَضَعْتُ يَدِي الْيُسْرَى خَلْفَ ظَهْرِي وَاتَّكَأْتُ عَلَى أَلْيَةِ يَدِي فَقَالَ أَتَقْعُدُ قِعْدَةَ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Shuraid bin Suwaid, may Allah be pleased with him, he says: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by me while I was sitting in such a way that I had placed my left hand behind my back and was leaning on the soft part of my hand. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me: Do you sit in the manner of those upon whom wrath has been sent down?
Hadith 9513
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَرَأَيْتُهُ مُتَّكِئًا عَلَى وِسَادَةٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I went to the house of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and saw him reclining on a cushion.
Hadith 9514
عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا جَلَسَ (أَوْ إِذَا اسْتَلْقَى) أَحَدُكُمْ فَلَا يَضَعْ رِجْلَيْهِ إِحْدَاهُمَا عَلَى الْأُخْرَى
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person lies on his back, he should not place one leg over the other.
Hadith 9515
عَنْ سَمُرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَعْتَدِلَ فِي الْجُلُوسِ وَأَنْ لَا نَسْتَوْفِزَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) commanded us to sit with composure and not to be hasty.
Hadith 9516
(عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ) أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كَانَ يَشْتَكِي رِجْلَيْهِ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ أَخُوهُ وَقَدْ جَعَلَ إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى الْأُخْرَى وَهُوَ مُضْطَجِعٌ فَضَرَبَهُ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى رِجْلِهِ الْوَجِيعَةِ فَأَوْجَعَهُ فَقَالَ أَوْجَعْتَنِي أَوَ لَمْ تَعْلَمْ أَنَّ رِجْلِي وَجِيعَةٌ قَالَ بَلَى قَالَ فَمَا حَمَلَكَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ قَالَ أَوَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ نَهَى عَنْ هَذِهِ
Abu Nazar says: Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) had some pain in one of his legs. He was lying down with one leg placed over the other. Meanwhile, his brother came to him and struck his ailing leg, which caused him pain. So he said: You have caused me pain, do you not know that my leg is in pain? He replied: Yes, of course I know. He said: Then why did you do this? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Have you not heard that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has forbidden placing one leg over the other in this manner?
