Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A man set out to visit a brother of his for the sake of Allah; he lived in another village. Allah Almighty appointed an angel on his way. When he passed by him, the angel asked: Where are you intending to go? He replied: I intend to visit so-and-so. The angel asked: Is it because of some kinship between you? He replied: No. The angel asked: Is there any favor he has done for you for which you are going to him? He replied: No. He asked: Then why are you going to him? He replied: Indeed, I love him for the sake of Allah Almighty. The angel said: In fact, I am a messenger to you from Allah Almighty, and I have come to inform you that because of your love for that man, Allah Almighty also loves you.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) also narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a Muslim visits or calls on his brother for the sake of Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty says: You have become pure and you have prepared a place in Paradise. In another narration, it is stated: You are pure and your walking is also pure.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: When a Muslim goes to visit his Muslim brother who is ill, he remains in the gardens of Paradise until he returns.
Hadith 9468
(Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever visits a sick person remains among the chosen fruits of Paradise for as long as he stays. Someone asked: What is meant by the "khurfah" of Paradise? He, peace and blessings be upon him, replied: Its chosen fruit.
