Hadith 9436
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! A person loves another person, but does not have the strength to do deeds like his deeds? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A person will be with the one whom he loves. I have never seen the companions as happy for anything as they were for this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), except for Islam. Then Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: So we love the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and do not have the strength to do as many deeds as he did, so if we attain his company, that will be sufficient for us.
Hadith 9437
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A person is upon the religion of his friend, so each of you should look at whom he befriends.
Hadith 9438
Syedna Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Be only the companion of a believer, and let none eat your food except a pious person.
Hadith 9439
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I said, "O Messenger of Allah! A man loves a certain people, but does not have the strength to do deeds like theirs." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Abu Dharr! You will be with those whom you love." I said, "Indeed, I love Allah and His Messenger." He repeated this statement once or twice.
Hadith 9440
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! What do you think about a person who loves a certain people, but is not able to meet them? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A person will be with those whom he loves.
Hadith 9441
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A believer to another believer is like a building, each part strengthening the other. And the example of a good companion is like that of a perfume seller: even if he does not give you any perfume, its fragrance will still reach you. And the example of a bad companion is like that of a blacksmith’s bellows: even if it does not burn you, its sparks will surely fall upon you. And the trustworthy treasurer is also among those who give charity, who, with the intention of reward, gives whatever he is commanded to give.
Hadith 9442
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said from the pulpit that the example of a good companion is like that of a perfume seller. Then, in brief, he mentioned the above hadith.
Hadith 9443
Zirr bin Hubaish says: During the caliphate of Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), I set out on a journey. The thing that motivated me for this journey was the meeting with Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b and other companions. So I met Sayyiduna Safwan bin Assal (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: Did you see the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? He said: Yes, indeed, I even participated in twelve battles with him (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 9444
Narrated from Sayyiduna Qais bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us, we placed water for his bath, he (peace and blessings be upon him) bathed, then we brought a yellowish-reddish sheet and he (peace and blessings be upon him) wrapped it around his body, as if even now I am seeing the marks of the wars herb on the folds of his (peace and blessings be upon him) stomach, then we brought a donkey to him (peace and blessings be upon him) for riding, but he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The owner of the donkey has more right to ride on its front part. He said: O Messenger of Allah! This donkey is only for you.
Hadith 9445
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty says; Whoever insults My friend—in another narration: Whoever causes pain to My friend—has declared war against Me, and My servant can only attain My closeness through the fulfillment of obligations, but the servant continues to draw near to Me through voluntary acts until I make him My beloved. Then, when he asks of Me, I grant him, and when he calls upon Me, I answer him. And I am not as hesitant about anything as I am about taking the soul of a believer, because he dislikes death and I dislike causing him grief.
