It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you can be a believer until Allah and His Messenger become more beloved to him than all other things, and until he prefers to be thrown into the fire rather than return to disbelief after Allah has saved him from it. And no person can be a believer until I become more beloved to him than his children, his father, and all people.
It is narrated from Zahra’s grandfather, he says: We were with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was holding the hand of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). He (Umar) said: O Messenger of Allah! You are more beloved to me than everything except my own self. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you can be a believer until I am more beloved to him than his own self. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah! Now you are more beloved to me than my own self. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Umar! Now it is right.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Firoz (may Allah be pleased with him) that people embraced Islam and he was among those people. So, they sent their delegation to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) along with their pledge and Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) accepted them. They said: O Messenger of Allah! You know who we are and where we have come from. We have accepted Islam, now who will be our guardian? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty and His Messenger. They said: This is sufficient for us and we are pleased with it.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The people who will love me the most from my Ummah are those who will come after me and will wish that they could see me, even if it meant spending their family and wealth.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, a servant seeks the pleasure of Allah Almighty and strives for it, until Allah Almighty says to Jibreel (peace be upon him): Verily, My such-and-such servant was seeking to please Me; beware! Now My mercy has been bestowed upon him. Jibreel (peace be upon him) says: Allah Almighty’s mercy has been bestowed upon such-and-such person. Then the bearers of the Throne repeat this statement, then the angels around them say it, until those in all seven heavens say the same phrase. Then this statement is sent down to the earth.
Narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We used to like that a Bedouin would come and ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) a question. So a Bedouin came and said: O Messenger of Allah! When will the Hour (Day of Judgment) come? Meanwhile, the call for the prayer (iqamah) was given and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) started the prayer. When he finished the prayer, he said: Where is the one who asked about the Hour? He said: I am here, O Messenger of Allah! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: And what have you prepared for it? He said: I have not prepared many deeds for it, neither many prayers nor many fasts, but I love Allah and His Messenger. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A person will be with whom he loves. In another narration: So indeed, you will be with whom you love, and for you is what you desire. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I have not seen the Muslims as happy after accepting Islam as they were on that day.
(Second chain) A similar hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), except that in it, Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The happiness we felt at the statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that "Indeed, you will be with those whom you love," was not equaled by any happiness from anything after the acceptance of Islam. So I love the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), and I hope that because of this love I will be with them, even though my deeds are not like their deeds.
