Hadith 9260
Syedna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: A person should not look at one who is superior to him in creation, character, or wealth; rather, he should look at one who is lesser than him.
Hadith 9261
(Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Look at the one who is below you and do not look at the one who is above you in rank; this is more appropriate so that you do not belittle the blessing of Allah upon you.
Hadith 9262
Imam Nafi says: I used to travel to Syria or Egypt for trade. Once, I prepared to go to Iraq and went to Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and said: O Umm al-Mu’minin! This time I am preparing to go to Iraq. She said: What happened to your previous trade? I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say that when something is a means of someone’s sustenance, he should not leave it until that thing itself changes. In any case, I went to Iraq and after returning, I went to Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and said: O Umm al-Mu’minin! By Allah! (Let alone profit) I could not even bring back my original capital. She narrated to him the same hadith again, or said: The hadith is the same as I have already told you.
Hadith 9263
Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Glad tidings are for that person who is guided towards Islam, and his life consists of sustenance according to his need, and he remains content.
Hadith 9264
Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that an Ansari man had a need. His family said to him: Go to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and ask him. So he went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was addressing (the people) and saying: Whoever adopts chastity, Allah will make him chaste, and whoever seeks self-sufficiency, Allah will make him self-sufficient, and whoever asks from us and we have something, we will give it to him. Hearing this hadith, the man left and did not ask for anything.
