Hadith 9197
Narrated by Sayyiduna Mu’adh bin Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by some people who were standing in one place, sitting on their animals and mounts. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: Ride these animals while they are healthy, and leave them in a state of health and soundness, and do not make them chairs for talking in the roads and markets (i.e., do not sit on them unnecessarily). For how many mounts are there that are better than their riders and remember Allah more than them.
Hadith 9198
Sayyiduna Sawadah bin Rabi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him (for something). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered some she-camels for me and said to me: When you reach your home, tell them to give good food to the young ones born in the spring, and also tell them to trim their nails so that they do not cause the udders of the cattle to bleed while milking.
Hadith 9199
Sayyiduna Dhirar bin Azwar (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We presented a milch she-camel to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) as a gift. In another narration, it is stated: Some members of my family sent me with milch she-camels to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed me to milk them, so I milked them. When I tried, with effort, to extract all the milk, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not do it like this; rather, leave the milk that causes (more) milk to be produced (in the udders).
Hadith 9200
(Second chain) The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by him while he was milking (an animal), so the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Leave (in the udders) the milk that causes more milk (to be produced).
Hadith 9201
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) once went to the camels of charity in the wilderness and gave a camel to all his wives except me. I said: O Messenger of Allah! You have given a camel to everyone except me? So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me a tough camel, which had not yet been ridden. I began to beat it, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Aisha! Be gentle, because gentleness adorns whatever it is in, and when gentleness is removed from something, it makes it defective.
Hadith 9202
Abdullah bin Ziyad says: Basar had two Muslim sons. I went to them and said: May Allah have mercy on you. The matter is that a man rides his mount, and he strikes it with a whip and also pulls it by the reins. Have you heard any hadith from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding this? They said: We have not heard anything about this. But then suddenly a woman's voice came from inside the house. She said: O questioner! Allah Almighty says: And there is no creature on the earth or bird that flies with its wings but are communities like you. We have not neglected anything in the Book. (: Surah Al-An'am: 38) Then they said: This is our sister, she is older than us, and she met the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.
Hadith 9203
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) saw a donkey that had been branded on its face. He (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Whoever has done this, the curse of Allah is upon him.
Hadith 9204
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Suraqah bin Malik bin Ju'sham, may Allah be pleased with him, that he went to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while he, peace and blessings be upon him, was suffering from his final illness. He says: I began to ask him, peace and blessings be upon him, questions (and asked so many questions that) I could not remember any more to ask, while he, peace and blessings be upon him, was saying: And remember. Anyway, among the questions I asked him, peace and blessings be upon him, was this: I said: O Messenger of Allah! A lost camel comes to my ponds, while I have filled them for my own camels, so will there be a reward for me in giving it water? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Yes, for giving water to every living being with a moist liver, there is a reward from Allah Almighty.
Hadith 9205
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) camped at a place. A man went towards a bush and brought out the eggs of a red bird (like a sparrow). Then the bird came and began fluttering over the heads of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and his companions. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Who among you has caused it distress? That man said: I took its eggs. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Put them back.
Hadith 9206
(Second narration) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) showed mercy to the bird and said: Put it back.
Hadith 9207
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Once upon a time) a man was walking along a path when he became extremely thirsty. He found a well, so he went down into it and drank water, then came out. There was a dog there, panting and licking the mud out of thirst. The man thought to himself, “This dog is suffering from thirst just as I was suffering from its severity.” So he went down into the well again, filled his sock with water, held it in his mouth, climbed up, and gave the dog water to drink. Allah Almighty appreciated his action and sincerity, and forgave him. (Upon hearing this) the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: O Messenger of Allah! Is there a reward for us in (showing mercy to) animals as well? He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: (Yes,) there is a reward in (serving and caring for) every living being with a moist liver.
Hadith 9208
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A sinful woman saw a dog on a hot day, circling around a well with its tongue hanging out from thirst. She took off her shoe (and gave it water to drink), and because of this, Allah Almighty forgave her.
Hadith 9209
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: A woman entered the Fire because of a cat. She had tied it up; neither did she feed or give it water herself, nor did she let it go so that it could eat the insects of the earth on its own.
Hadith 9210
Alqamah says: We were sitting with Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), when suddenly Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) also arrived there. Sayyidah said to him: Do you narrate that a woman was punished because of a cat, meaning she had tied it up and neither fed it nor gave it water? He said: Yes, I heard this from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Sayyidah said: Do you know who that woman was? Whatever that woman did, in any case, she was a disbeliever, and indeed, in the sight of Allah Almighty, the honor of a believer is greater than that He would punish him because of a cat. So when you narrate hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), then also consider carefully how you are narrating.
